uhcougs
saw this while surfing, and looking at the track schedule today. HMP and THR crate meeting?
Truck99
Things that make you go hmmmmm... HMP is running a schedule in 2006 that mirrors what THR has proposed to do - 12 or so regular season events. Is it possible that HMP and THR will cooperate and schedule their events on opposing weekends and use the same rules?
uhcougs
HMP hasn't run a weekly show since..... They've been running only on the touring event nights only atleast 3 years.
Truck99
True, but the flyer you posted still makes me wonder if the two schedules might mesh. Can't wait to see the THR rules to see what classes will be running next year.
arts22
I seen on the HMP schedule that TSRS is on there. Is the USRA not racing at HMP?
legacy47
Looking like no, but I hope they can work something out.
arts22
You would think that the USRA would run at HMP, they had 4 races on the schedule last year. Why wouldnt they run there in 2006?
ProTree
they probably will if you people will give em some time, season just barely finished and everybodys screaming for rules and schedules.I'm sure the powers that be are working as hard as they can to line everything up,which is not an easy job,and trying to do their regular jobs, and deal with their families issues also.SO HAVE SOME PATIENCE. Telling a bunch of racers to have patience is like trying to sell ocean front property in Arizona, it just aint happenin.....

lendo38
The three Houston Crate series will be racing a 14 race schedule in Houston, and also a 5 race schedule in Kyle. There will be a Houston track champion from each series, a THR champion for each series, and an overall champion. On the whole, the meeting was great. There was some fairly interesting discussion with regards to the tech rules about weights and a big debate over the inversion of the entire field for each race. There was a nice turn out. Graham said that there are currently (15) Sportsman cars committed, (10-12) Pro cars committed, and he said if all of the Modifieds show up that have called, there will be (30) of them. The Sportsman cars still have to test the "grooved" GoodYear tire before that rule is etched in stone. (I hope it does not work!) I can try to answer any questions regarding the content of the meeting if you would like. Lendo38
supertx
Sounds like a good start to me way to go THR and the Bakers
lendo38
I agree supertx. After all of our comments on here about the tracks getting together for the racers and fans, I for one am very appreciative to the Bakers and Mary Ann for this effort. I think the 2006 season could shape up to be alot of fun. There were some really good racers and representatives in that meeting yesterday. Guest noclutch
So how did the debate over the inversion of the entire field go? Would it be inverted from qualifying, heat race or points? That would be interesting at two tracks that are a challenge to pass on. Hopefully, the decision makers have witnessed at this level, the more inversion the more business the parts store gets on Monday Morning, and that does keep the cash flow within the industry but eliminates cars in the long run. thrss1
inverted by points is what i was told
lendo38
The first race of the season will have qualifying. Cars will start in the order they qualify for this race only. The finishing order from the first race will be inverted completely for the next race, and so on throughout the season. A new car coming in later in the season will start in the back. "Rookies" may have to start in the back regardless of their finishing positions depending upon a driver evaluation committee ruling on their ability. This will make for great excitement. I agree that there is great potential for some ugly wrecks and torn up cars. I voiced my concern about the limited amount of laps that the Sportsman Late Models are running. With only 40 laps in the feature, the lead points cars are going to have to drive like Hell to get to the front in such a small number of laps. Especially at tracks where it is difficult to pass as you guys mentioned.
Crazyhorse
limited late models do it at thr in 35 lap features .............and it's easier to pass at houston (jmo)..........the potential for wrecks is only there if you allow it to be........don't be scared? ps- thanX for you support HMP .........this sarcasm, brought to you by a pissed off truck driver.
