NickHolt
Since it's already up on the ASA site, we put out a quick release this evening too. Read about it on the TXSZ front page. http://www.txsz.com/index. As Terry told me earlier this evening. "You ain't seen nothing yet. Wayne and Nick and myself have done some serious homework over the past six months and as far as I'm concerned we're headed in an exciting direction that will give our teams opportunities to run at more places and hopefully reduce costs over the long haul. I don't want to let too many cats out of the bag, but there will be some major announcements being made over the next few weeks." HORSEPOWER
That sounds great, should be a great show. These are Super Late Models with crates right? I think the same type cars that raced the Snowflake. It says 10 of these races will be televised, this series should attract several top short track drivers, including all them "Young Guns". Thanks for your hard work TD and Staff.
Pacecar
The ASALM series has 3 sets of rules. ASALM North, ASALM South, and the televised ASALM Challenge Series. I hope that the ASALM South rules are chosen for the SAS race. That gives local teams (including TSRS cars) some options to join the race.

lloyd#5
i would probably guess that this race is going to be run under the ASA lm challenge series rules since it is on the schedule as one of those races. Should be a very interesting season at SAS this season from what i am hearing. I would be willing to bet that there will be a few texas teams that will try and qualify for this race. uhcougs
I found outfrom a friend who is an ASA official. He said it was an ASA LM South race?
Jason
uhcougs, I heard from the horse's mouth that it was a challenge race. Of coarse plans change but the site does show it as a challenge race also.
uhcougs
I like your basis of thought. Last time I talked to Brade he said "hey i'll be in San Antonio with the South guys" but knowing Terry, he probably got ASA to bring some bigger guns in. :-D I'll never know how Terry does what he does, but he's a genious! HORSEPOWER
These cars are about a 1/2 second off the super late model times and I think faster than the old ASA touring series on short tracks.
asalms
Hello this is Matt Prieur, the Director of Media/Public Relations-P.A. Announcer for the ASA Late Model Series. On behlf of the ASALMS, we are very happy to be heading to the San Antonio Speedway on Saturday April 1, 2006 with the ASALMS Challenge Division. We look forward to coming to the Lone Star State and hope all of our fans in the great state of Texas will come out and support us as well. By the middle of next week, we hope to release a press release about our event in San Antonio. We can't wait to come to Texas and put on a great show for you all. Pacecar
I believe that all ASALM CHALLENGE series races are televised. I would assume that this is the case for the SAS race on Arpil 1.
HORSEPOWER
Tommy Grimes and James Buescher are already registered and Speedracer. Is KC11 Buescher? http://www.asalatemodels.com/tidbits.asp Since they own the Southern All-Stars Super Later Model Series and are working on a schedule for them, maybe they can have a co-sanctioned non points event with SAS's and USRA SLM's at San Antonio Speedway or one of the Alabama tracks. arts22
Are they going to run under the ASA Challange rules or will they run under the ASA southern rules? If they run under the Southern rules, that puts alot of the Texas LM's in the show, meaning a huge car count......
