  1. Great to hear from you Sandra. I will get with Randy and get the info. We hope to have a reunion of sorts to so we can all visit, maybe bring our scrap books and share some memories. After we lost the track on Red Bluff in Pasadena, we did not race any more, and eventually my dad sold the midget and trailer and bought two more horses. I do have great memories of the time and will scan my photos in for Randy to add. Hope to see you at the reunion whenever we can set it up.
  2. Hey Randy, I am starting a database to help keep track of contact information of all of old 50's Quarter midget racers. If you will pass on to everyone, they can email me at ATaylor817@aol.com or fred_taylor@itc.co.harris.tx.us. If will give me their names and information listed below maybe we can put out your newsletter and attempt to get everyone together one evening for a meet and greet. With a little planning hopefully as many can attend as possible and bring their scrapbooks tool. here is the information I could use. First Name, Last Name, Nick Name, street address, City, State, Zip code, home number and or cell number. Car make and model, Car #, Car color. If possible photo's of driver then and now. Photo of car then. little memo information, what have you been doing since. Great to hear from all Fred "Freddy" Taylor
  3. Randy, Hey guy, I am in Florida for the shuttlle launch. Will be back sometimes near the 24 th Tell everyone hello, Sandra, Denny, Larry, Doug,Debbie and Cogie, Gail, Gary and Daryl, hello. I know I was a newbie compared to you guys, but you all made an impact on my memory. Do your remember Danny Gage? Sorry to hear about Dempie and any others we have lost. I will try to build a database that has everyone name, past photo, present photo, car number, parents name, and current profession. Will also build a presentation to show then and now photos if they will send them in. I think a reunion will be great. We have all gone different directions, will be interesting to see those different paths. You were my best friend then, think you would still be if our lives had stayed close. Freddy
  4. Hello Denny, I just found this site and thought I would say hello. I used to race with you, Larry and the rest of the guys and girls you mentioned at Gulf Gate, Allendale Shopping Center in Pasadena, and at the track on Red Bluff road in Pasadena. I drove the red #13 with the shark painted on it, which we later repained to blue and changed the number to # 58, my favorite adult driver and your uncle M.J. I will attempt to post a photo of #13. I may have some photos of you and some of the others in my dad's 35 mm slide collection. I remember the great times we had in either your dad's or M.J.' garage on Washington while our parents were meeting for the Coastal Quarter Midget Association. I have been attempting to contact Randy Coon, we became good frineds but lost contact with him in the 70's, if anyone knows where he is I would appreciate it. I ran into Tommy Dowdy recently, he is an assistant fire chief for the Houston Fire Department. Well, I hope you and your family have a great Christmas. Freddy Taylor
