Mrs. Naumann has confirmed eight TSRS dates on their 2003 schedule and $5,000 has been put into the points fund. ROMCO Late Models: San Antonians Steve Foster and Leroy Farmer, both race winners in 2002 Texas Pro Sedan series races, announced at the TPS awards ceremony they will field a Super Late Model car in the 2003 ROMCO touring series. Foster has won championships in professional off-road events, drag

raced, and driven in the SCCA Can-Am Series over the past 30 years. Foster will pilot the ROMCO car and Farmer will be the team manager.

Grimes injury: Tommy Grimes, the popular S.A. driver of the front-running No. 22 stock car on the ROMCO circuit, sustained serious injury in a recent construction accident which initially required 22 stitches in his right arm. He lost a lot of blood in the accident and has had wrist problems during his recovery. He has had two special surgeries to help him regain full use of his right arm. Grimes hopes to be ready for the 2003 ROMCO season.

John Foster passes: Texas International Drivers Association driver John Foster of Odessa died Nov. 21 of complications resulting from a massive heart attack. Foster, 60, had been a contender in TIDA Late Model races in the 1980s and 90s and co-owned Twin-Cities Speedway near Odessa. Foster was the Odessa KWES-TV station general manager.

San Antonio Raceway: Effective Nov. 22, the IHRA-sanctioned drag racing facility located on IH-10 East of San Antonio on the Santa Clara Rd. exit, changed its name to San Antonio Raceway. SAR has established a new web site address at www.sanantonioraceway.com. Their office telephone numbers are 698-2310 and metro (830) 914-4646.

ARTS: The American Race Truck Series, a national low-cost truck series with local regions around the country, has undergone some big changes. The national office is rebuilding and forming a new series with the name "Allstar Race Truck Series." Local race truck owners are awaiting the 2003 ARTS schedule.

S.A. dragster sold: San Antonians Bobby Rex and Marvin Foxworth recently sold their Top Fuel dragster to a Springfield, Mo. race driver. The dragster was originally a Darrell Gwynn vehicle and, according to Rex, "a

car like this, running on the starting line for professional events, runs about $150,000."
