Tom and I have been interested in competing on a road race with our Legacy cars and finally: GREAT NEWS: National Auto Sports Association, (NASA) has invited the Texas Allison Legacy racing series to race with them this year at Texas World Speedway in College Station. This will be a 2 - day racing event on August 20 and 21, (Saturday & Sunday). Here is a brief overview of the racing schedule for the weekend. ( I don't have the exact times yet. Waco Racer
They will be running the 2.9 mile configuration. All cars are welcome to come out and race. We have a class for everyone.
Mel
racingnut, Yes we will be racing the 2.9 mile road circuit. Any of those series/classes that run 4 cyl. can compete on the track. *Note* Please check with your local promoter and if your class is not racing, then we have a place for your car to race. We do not wish to pull cars from a local class and/or series that already has plans for that weekend. Keep in mind we are "guests" and this is a non-points race. This is scheduled for a "fun outing" at the famed Texas World Speedway in College Station, Texas. Some of the guys in the Pro Sedan class have raced there many times and I'll bet they would teach us a thing or two! Thanks, Mel

NickHolt
Is there any entry fee? If so, how much is it? And will this be a NASA sanctioned event? If so, didn't the SLM guys race with them one time at TWS? Or is my memory completely failing me... Nick Holt
NeilTPS
Nick - ROMCO SLM's raced at Texas Motor Speedway (TMS) only once under NASA control. Texas Pro Sedans had to decline Mel's invitation to race at TWS because were are working on and will soon announce an oval race date which would conflict with his TWS schedule. NickHolt
Nick, I believe they will be paying the same thing that all nasatx members will be paying. you can search that at www.nasatx.com Thanks 4lugnutz. I did go to the NASA site and found this information. No wonder no one could say how much the entry fee was. Looks like they have fees that you can tailor to suit your needs. But the NASA website said it was a two-day event so that would put the registration cost at $275 with transponder rental of $55. Somebody correct me if I've screwed this up. I'm asking because a friend of mine is thinking about giving the NASA event a try.
