If it's August and 100 degrees out you know what it's time for?

**Lucky break, it's only forecast for mid 90's.

 

Yes, this year is the return of Marble Falls Lakefest. After three years in dry dock, the thunderous sound of the Southern Drag Boat Association(SDBA) running the liquid quarter mile on Lake Marble Falls will rumble through the valley. With some new additions to Lakeside Park the lay out will be a bit different this year and some new parking arrangements are in place for the weekends events.

 

Many of the same classes will be in action from the previous years, plus a couple changes. Classes include; Top Alcohol Hydro, Top Alcohol Flat, Pro Mod, Pro Outlaw, Pro Comp Flat, Pro Jet, Quick Eliminator, Pro Eliminator, Modified Eliminator, Top Eliminator, Stock Eliminator and Personal Water Craft.

 

Friday night is the annual “Show-n-Shine” in Johnson Park from 5pm to 8pm with a chance to view the boats up close and personal and meet the drivers of these unique race craft. Entry to the Show-n-Shine is free.

 

Qualifying takes place on Saturday(Aug. 7^th) starting at 9:00am with the pro classes set for 10:30am and 2:00pm. Eliminations begin Sunday(Aug. 8^th) at 9:00am with the awards ceremonies set for 5:00pm in Johnson Park.
