Daytona International Speedway Notes:

Cory Roper and the Roper Racing Team #04 Preferred Industrial Contractors Ford F-150 started 20th on the first road course for the trucks at Daytona and Roper’s first road course in his racing career.

  • At the beginning of the race, Roper had to pit lap 10 to clear grass out of the grill due to missing the 1st chicane, which caused him to move to the back.  Roper ended stage 1p 33.  Roper ran as high as 9th in stage 2.  In stage 3, Roper suffered heavy damage on the first Chicane when he got stuck between two trucks with 10 laps to go.  Roper got the lucky dog and ended up finishing 26th in the Sunoco 159.
  • Last Race in Michigan, Roper luckily avoided 3 wrecks that were in front of him during the race. Roper was sitting p15 at the end of Stage 1, 23rd at the end of stage 2 and wheeled his way back to p15 after a great restart.  Roper made contact with Tyler Hill which caused a tire rub and flat on lap 101 overtime. Roper ran as high as 11th and finished 23rd due to pitting for tire change.
  • Daytona marked Roper’s 27th start in the truck series.
  • For the beginning of the season, Roper Racing team was primarily sponsored by CarQuest Auto Parts.  The remainder of the season will be announced at a later date.
  • Roper Racing will NOT be attending the Dover International Speedway KDI Office Technology 200, next racer TBD.
  • Sheldon Creed was the race winner for the Daytona Road Course Sunoco 159. Brett Moffitt, Raphael Lessard, Matt Crafton, and Austin Hill completed the top five.
