NickHolt Posted July 28, 2020 Report Share Posted July 28, 2020 Race Report Kansas Speedway- #04 CarQuest Auto Parts Roper Racing NGROTS Double Header at Kansas Speedway Date: July 24 and July 25thth 2020 Event: Blu-Emu Maximum Pain Relief 200, EPT 200 Format: 3 stages/134 laps Start/Finish: Round 1- 27th/20th Round 2- 20th/36th Race Winner: Austin Hill/Matt Crafton Kansas Speedway Blu- Emu Maximum Pain Relief 200 Results July 24th Kansas Speedway EPT 200 Results July 25th Kansas Speedway Notes: JULY 24th Cory Roper and the Roper Racing Team #04 CarQuest Auto Parts Ford F-150 started 27th after drawing for track position based on points. This was Ropers first time at Kansas Speedway. Again, this race was with no practice, qualifying, or spectators. Roper wheeled his way to 20th from 27th but was fighting the truck. He came over the radio and said, “Loose all the way around”. After pitting for adjustments with 22 laps completed, he rounded out stage 1 at p22. Starting stage 2 at p 20 and running as high as 19th, Roper finished the race in the 20th spot This event marked Roper’s 24th start in the truck series. Cory Roper and the Roper Racing Team is primarily sponsored by CarQuest Auto Parts. This was the first of two races for the double header at Kansas Speedway. Austin Hill took the win at the Blu-Emu Maximum Pain Relief 200. Brett Moffitt, Grant Enfinger, Matt Crafton, Derek Kraus completed the top five. JULY 25th With a top 20 finish the night before, Roper was comfortable in the truck and felt good about the second race of the Kansas double header, the EPT 200. This race marked Roper’s 25th start in the truck series. Roper started in the 20th position and ended stage 1 p24 stating that the truck was “tight coming out”. After adjustments during the end of stage pit, he gained some positions and started stage 2 p20. Roper was in the 18th position on the start of stage 3 but after a caution, Roper came into pit but came out starting p25. On lap 78 on the restart, Roper got caught up behind a spinning truck and hit the safety barrier wall between turns 3 and 4. Roper was taken to the infield care center where he was later released. Roper is currently 20th in Driver Points and 26th in Owner Points. Matt Crafton was the race winner for the EPT 200, Christian Eckes, Grant Enfinger, Tanner Gray, and Ben Rhodes completed the top 5.
