‘Hour of Power’ hits The Motorsports Zone and IMS

Two of the most respected NASCAR journalists – Terry Blount of the Dallas Morning News and David Poole of the Charlotte Observer – will make back-to-back live appearances on The Motorsports Zone, this Sunday (June 5) from 10 a.m.-11 a.m. CT on KVET-AM 1300 (Austin), The Zone.

The show can also be heard via audio stream at www.sportsradio1300.com. The Motorsports Zone is in its third year of broadcast on KVET-AM, the flagship station for University of Texas athletics. The show is hosted by Chuck Licata, who is joined by Ric Clark of San Antonio.

Licata and Clark will chat with Blount and Poole about the DEI situation, as well as preview the upcoming weekend of racing (CTS and IRL) at Texas Motor Speedway on June 9-11. Licata and Clark will review the Busch and CTS races on the show. There will also be a couple of NASCAR hats given out to listeners of The Motorsports Zone this Sunday as well.

The duo will also review the Twin 50’s and Texas All Star Summer Showdown races to be held at San Antonio Speedway.

The two interviews with Blount and Poole will be replayed on the Internet Motors Sports (IMS) show, which airs at 8 p.m. ET (7 p.m. CT) on VRNSports.com.

Brandon Whitt, driver of the #38 McMillin Homes/Cure Autism Now Toyota Tundra, will join the IMS live for an interview.

Licata will also review Saturday night’s racing at the Twin 50’s and Texas All Star Summer Showdown races to be held at San Antonio Speedway, as well as the racing at Thunder Hill Raceway on both shows, including the Lone Star Legacys race and the wild and wacky THR Street Stocks race.

Jay Hallas will join the IMS show and give a report on the national dirt track racing scene, including a look at the IMCA national standings.

The show can be heard by visiting the www.VRNSports.com web site and clicking the “Listen Live” link to the Internet Motor Sports show.
