SPRINT CAR BANDITS “PANHANDLE 25” at MONARCH SAT. MAY 9

>Plus Huge triple header for 3 USRA divisions

Wichita Falls, TX (5/1/20) - Race fans and teams that have been to the new Monarch Motor Speedway (west side of Wichita Falls) know that it features incredible dirt track racing with state-of-the-art facilities. And for the second straight year, a blockbuster event is taking place at the ¼ mile ultra-fast speed plant featuring some of the best dirt track racers in the region with the running of the Sprint Car Bandits® (SCB) “PANHANDLE 25” 360C.I. Shootout, paying $2,000 to win and $300/start.

Plus the $1,000 to win Limited Modified Madness, $1,000 to win Factory Stock Fracas and $500 to win Tuners Brawl will all be taking place on this one special night - Saturday, May 9th at 7pm! Note that the Sprint Cars will be racing 1st or 2nd division our for the feature events.

:30 Second Rewind from the 2019 SCB Monarch event: An unforgettable night of wild in-your-face action would take place after overnight storms made for a total slurp-fest on the racing surface with elbows-up high speed drama taking place in every division all night long. The SCB feature event saw Will Eggimann (2019 SCB series champion) wrestle the lead away from John Carney II and Tim Crawley. Eggimann would lead til the 2-to-go flags were waved when a lapped car got crossed up and started flipping in front of the lead pack, resulting in Eggimann’s top wing being torn off the car. During the red, with just two laps to go, Eggimann and team decided it was not a safe idea to restart the event sans top wing leading the field…so he went pit-side and John Carney II would take home the $2,000 winners prize, with Harli White driving the wheels off her #17w sprinter coming from 21st to 2nd after a first-lap skirmish.

The SCB series has a unique rules package that allows teams to use their current equipment (especially in the engine compartment) yet curbing nightly tire expense...which helps equalize the competition with teams of varying budget sizes. The SCB “20° wing angle rule” also helps by freeing up the cars to be able to pass easier in many cases that also helps reduce excess tire and engine wear. Our ‘one rear tire all night long’ rule has not only saved racers thousands of dollars over the past four years, but to date, we’ve yet to have one tire fail (blow) due to excess tire wear in any feature race we’ve held.

All these small, yet effective changes, have been accomplished without the racers having to purchase something out of the ordinary. And we essentially haven’t changed the rules since the inception of the series at the end of 2015.

And let’s face it, since the events of 9/11/2001 – and now as of late, a lot of the economics of the sport of dirt track racing have changed drastically (especially the cost of travel, track insurance, general crowd sizes, cost of racing components), yet there really hasn’t been much being done on a nationwide level to help counteract those economic impacts. We aren’t trying to say we’ve ‘fixed’ all those impacts, but at least we are doing something to help curb racer expenses – and it’s working.

Our rules package certainly has made for exciting and unpredictable racing outcomes – as there were 18 different feature winners in the past 28 series events!

We look forward to seeing you Saturday, May 9th when the Sprint Car Bandits 360C.I. “PANHANDLE 25” Sprint Shootout returns to Monarch Motor Speedway in Wichita Falls with high-powered winged Sprint Cars battling on the racy 1/4 mile speed plant, paired with an unforgettable night of racing in the Monarch USRA Divisions!
