NASCAR suspends an Austin Wayne Self crew member indefinitely

by Shane Walters, RacingNews.co

Jeffrey W. Merritt has been indefinitely suspended by NASCAR. He was in violation of Section 2.11.a in the rule book. The crew member failed to notify NASCAR of a misdemeanor and/or felony per the rule book

Section 2.11.a: “Any NASCAR Member charged with any violation of the law (misdemeanor and/or felony) shall notify NASCAR … prior to the next scheduled Event or within 72 hours of being so charged, whichever is earlier.”

Jeffrey Merritt was most recently listed as the front end mechanic for the No. 22 truck driven by Austin Wayne Self of the AM Racing team.

The NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series returns to the track this weekend at Martinsville Speedway.

There's more to this story that AM Racing isn't realeasing.  Bubba drove the truck again at TMS and Austin's twitter page has been silent since it was released that Bubba was going to drive the truck.  He was someone who posted at least everyday on his twitter page and then no word has been spoken in 2 weeks.
