NickHolt Posted June 11, 2018 Report Share Posted June 11, 2018 Lucas Oil Late Models Target "Clash at the Mag" BATAVIA, OH (June 11th, 2018) - A band of the nation's top dirt late model drivers will soon converge at Magnolia Motor Speedway for the annual Country Pleasin' "Clash at the Mag." This blockbuster weekend, held June 14th-16th, will see the stars of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series, along with a talented group of local and regional standouts, in pursuit of a $20,000 top prize. The activities will get underway on Thursday, June 14th, with an open practice session for all divisions from 7:00pm thru 10:00pm. The action on Friday, June 15th includes: Miller Welders Time Trials and Heat Races for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. In addition, the Crate Late Model, Late Model Sportsman, Street Stock, and Factory Stock divisions will be in competition on Friday night. On Saturday night, the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will take center stage, featuring B-Mains and the 100-lap, "Clash at the Mag" main event. The Crate Late Model, Late Model Sportsman, Street Stock, and Factory Stock divisions will cap off the weekend action. Mike Marlar dominated the 2017 edition of the "Clash at the Mag," setting Miller Welders overall fast time, winning his heat race, and leading the entire distance in the main event. Dennis Erb Jr. finished a close second, after a late-race restart bunched the field up for a final charge to the end. Brandon Overton, Darrell Lanigan, and Kyle Bronson rounded out the top five. The award-winning, Lucas Oil Production Studios will be on hand to tape all the action for broadcast on NBC Sports and MAVTV Motorsports Network, at a later date.
