LoneStar Speedway $ummer $izzler and Shootout set for August

LONESTAR'S 5th $UMMER $IZZLER & WINGED MODIFIED SHOOTOUT SET for SATURDAY, AUGUST 26th!

 

Kilgore, TX (08/04/17) - Another action packed & family-affordable night of racing is set for LoneStar Speedway (LSS) on Saturday, August 26th at 8pm with the running of the 5th Annual $ummer $izzler! Extra purse money is up for grabs in each of the LoneStar racing divisions, plus it will feature the annual Texas Wing Modified Association (TWMA) vs. Ark La Tex Wing Modified Association (ALTWMA) Winged Modified Shootout. Grandstand admission for ages 12-64 is just $15, while seniors/military can get in for $12, ages 6-11 are $5. All pit passes for all ages are $30.

 

The Winged Modified Shootout pits the North Texas based TWMA vs. the Louisiana based ALTWMA, with LoneStar Speedway serving as a neutral 'battleground' for bragging rights. Between the two groups, there are a great number of Winged Modifieds, and they always put on an exciting race atop the LSS high-banks.

 

Winged Modified drivers such as Caleb Dillard, Alan Myers, Koty Adams, Brandon Hightower, Korey Keimig, Steve Adrian, Nick Cooper. Rex Adrian, Thomas Burge, Kodey Keimig, Kadale Kolar, Eddie Grmela, Mark Zoeller, Dustin Mooney, Raven Culp, Ashton Wester, Scott Trowell, Rick McCommas, David Suggs, Dana Wood, Warren Anderson, Joe Boswell, Ken Mangham, Susie Bates, Mike Driggers - and more - can be expected to compete on Saturday, August 26th at LSS for the Winged Modified Shootout title.

 

The 5th Annual $ummer $izzler will be a full point’s night, with added purses in each division; with the Modifieds (paying $1,100 to win and $100 to start) and Limited Modifieds ($600 to win), the Factory Stocks will pay $500 to win and the Front-Wheel Drive 4-Cylinders will be racing for $200 to win. There is no entry fee in any race division 8/26.

As always, any driver not making a feature race will receive non-qualifier money. Modifieds receive $50, Limited Modifieds receive $30, while any non-qualifiers in the Factory Stocks will receive $20.

 

Purse breakdown for each LSS racing division is as follows (TWMA/ALTWMA rules/purse at each series site):

- Factory Stock feature (20 laps): $500 - 250 - 200 - 160 - 140 - 120 - 100 - 100 - 80 - 80 - 60 - 60 - 40…to start. No entry fee. All NQ or non-starters will receive $20. Transponders and working RACEceivers are required; sales and rentals are available at track.

 

-Modified feature payback (20 laps): $1,100 - 550 - 400 - 300 - 250 - 220 - 200 - 180 - 160 - 140 - 120 - 120 - 100...to start. All NQ's or non-starters receive $50. No entry fee. Transponders and working RACEceivers are required; sales and rentals are available at track.

 

-Limited Modified feature payback (20 laps): $600 - 400 - 300 - 220 - 200 - 180 - 160 - 140 - 120 - 100 - 80 - 80 - 60...to start. All NQ's or non-starters receive $30. No entry fee. Transponders and working RACEceivers are required; sales and rentals are available at track.

 

-Front-Wheel Drive 4-Cylinders: $200 - 120 - 110 - 100 - 90 - 80 - 70 - 60 - 50 - 40 - 30...to start. No entry fee or draw fee. Working RACEceivers required. No mufflers required. No transponders required.

 

With only a handful of events remaining in the LoneStar Championship Points Series, there could be a real shakeup in points after this event. Rules for all divisions are on the track website. Click www.LoneStarSpeedway.com for additional details.

 

Reminder that ‘summer hours’ are in effect: racing begins at 8pm. We have found that the summer hours program is working really well, as it helps keep the track in optimum condition on hot summer days.

 

Here are some quick facts for the Saturday August 26th LSS $ummer $izzler & Winged Modified Shootout:

 

-Pits open at 5pm, Grandstands open at 6pm, Draw Cut off at 7pm, Drivers Meeting at 7:15pm, with Hot Laps between 7:30-8pm (depending on heat and cloud cover), and racing to follow immediately.

- Grandstand admission for ages 12-64 is just $15, while seniors/military can get in for $12, ages 6-11 are $5. All pit passes for all ages are $30. There is no parking fee, or any other fee to be able to get in to the grandstand area.

-Upgrade any ticket to the Reserved Section of the grandstands for $5 per person

-No outside food/drink coolers are allowed inside; a full selection of economically priced food concessions, including beer, are available
