ffmedic42
First off thank you to all that helped get the carb issue fixed. I found the clog i the main body under the squirters. Now that carb is off I noticed it was set all the way back. My question first question is this the correct position? or Do I need to move it forward? my concern is not getting enough fuel to cylinders 1 and 2. I tried to attach a picture for reference. Also is there a better stock intake for a pure stock at I-37?
HiTech
look for a two barrel intake I think the four barrel hurts when you go from 850 to 500 ...always better to try and line up with the large holes .some folks line up center I don't want anything blocking flow . if the 1 2 7 8 cylinders are colder tested why sitting in the pits or what ever forget it you wont get them to heat up unless your running on the track if they show leaning out after track run .you have other problems timing jetting and such .. ffmedic42
Do they make a stock intake that works better? Back in the day running a late model I didn't have to worry about it. Now I have to relearn it all to do pure stocks. would something like this be legal?
justramit
I always heard as far back as possible on 4 bbl. And always heard 2 bbl will pull a little harder off corner and 4bbl help more top end
racerguy8811
Just get a plate made that will turn the carb sideways!! That seems to be legal too!
HiTech
we have one car with the four barrel and one with the two barrel cast stock intake ... I would love to put the two barrel on the pure stock just to see what it do off the turns ..but that two barrel seems to help the other car pull off the turns better than it had with the four . you still need an adaptor . I would go with the two barrel on a short track .I don't think there is A RULE against running a two barrel intake long as it is cast factory ..
