South Texas Limited Modified Championship

Recommended Posts

Congratulations to both Talon Minten and Shane Hoefling for getting the first two wins at I-37 Speedway and Texana Raceway Park!

These two drivers are now both tied for the points lead for the Inaugural South Texas Limited Modified Championship.

I'm still waiting on results from Edna to get the complete points figured out.

Right now this is just for fun and bragging rights. But there are rumblings of a points fund being put together.

Will either of these two solidify their point lead by coming to STS for Sames Ford Night at the Races? Or will another contender come in and pass them up?

Don't miss this race!

Cody, I like what you got going on here and its pretty cool.

One thing to think of that would be a neat idea for the racers and tracks is something similar to what we do in the drag racing world. Take your lets say top 10 in points at each track and a driver has to declare a track to be eligible for this event. At the end of the season at one of the special races at Texana, STS, or I-37 you have the South Texas Limited Mod Team Shootout. So you have your 30 drivers representing the 3 tracks. You run 5 heat races with 6 cars in each heat(2 from each track) you start counting points for finishing position in the heat races. You take the top 4 finishers in each heat and move them straight to the A main. Take the remaining 10 cars run a b main top 4 or top 2 go to the a main (still counting points.) Run a dash with 5 heat race winners and the points champion if he did not win a heat race (or highest finishing track champion that didn't win a heat race) counting points for the dash and starting position in the a main. When you finish the a main you tally the finishing positions and add up the points the team that has the most points at the end of the night wins the team championship. It sounds confusing but its really fun and adds comraderie to all the racers.

The Inaugural South Texas Limited Modified Championship is going to take a very interesting turn this weekend!

Two different tracks will be running this upcoming Saturday Night!

With both tracks running anyone in the standings could end up leading the points battle going into next week!

Will it be an I37 car or will it be a TRP car that takes the points lead this Saturday Night?!

All three tracks put on TOP NOTCH racing shows! Don't miss your opportunity to race this Saturday Night!

We have received a few questions on how the South Texas Limited Modified Championship works.

Here is a quick run down on what we are doing.

We will be taking each drivers best 18 nights at I-37 Speedway, South Texas Speedway & Texana Raceway Park.

The final weekend that will count towards the points standings is October 28th at South Texas Speedway.

The Big Bucks Shootout at I37 & The South Texas Shootout at STS will not count towards the points standings.
