USRA Late Model explosion continues

WINONA, Minn. (March 20) -- Beginning in 2017, the USRA Late Model division will have a national points fund and a national champion will be crowned in the Summit Racing USRA Weekly Racing Series.

Mississippi Thunder Speedway owner/promoter Bob Timm has spearheaded the development and growth of the USRA Late Models, and several new venues are set to welcome the full-fendered machines during the 2017 racing season.

Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wis., Upper Iowa Speedway in Decorah, Iowa; Fayette County Speedway in West Union, Iowa; Cresco Speedway in Cresco, Iowa; and Red Cedar Speedway in Menomonie, Wis., will work together to add an additional 18 races for the USRA Late Models in 2017.

The following schedule is in addition to all Friday night weekly races at the Mississippi Thunder Speedway:

April 22 - Cedar Lake Speedway, New Richmond, Wis.
May 13 - Cedar Lake Speedway, New Richmond, Wis.
May 20 - Upper Iowa Speedway, Decorah, Iowa
May 27 - Cedar Lake Speedway, New Richmond, Wis.
June 16 - Fayette County Speedway, West Union, Iowa
June 17 - Upper Iowa Speedway, Decorah, Iowa
June 22 - Cresco Speedway Cresco, Iowa (Fair Race)
June 29 - Cedar Lake Speedway, New Richmond, Wis.
July 1 - Cedar Lake Speedway, New Richmond, Wis. (Firecracker Special)
July 2 - Cresco Speedway, Cresco, Iowa
July 27 - Red Cedar Speedway, Menomonie, Wis.
July 29 - Upper Iowa Speedway, Decorah, Iowa
Aug. 3 - Cedar Lake Speedway, New Richmond, Wis.
Aug. 10 - Red Cedar Speedway, Menomonie, Wis.
Aug. 12 - Upper Iowa Speedway, Decorah, Iowa
Sept. 14 - Cedar Lake Speedway, New Richmond, Wis. (Legendary)
Sept. 16 - Upper Iowa Speedway, Decorah, Iowa
Sept. 21 - Red Cedar Speedway, Menomonie, Wis. (Punky Manor)
