NickHolt
From Ken Hobbs:  One of the questions we have been getting since the release of the schedule has been "What is the Championship Chase?"  For 2017 South Texas Speedway and our sponsor partners have come together to put forth a Points Fund for the drivers that race at the South Texas Speedway. At the conclusion of racing on September 2nd we will reset the points for the Top 5 in each division plus anyone with perfect attendance and a win. The following 3 races on September 30th, October 14th and October 28th will be a 3 race Chase for  The Championship. All normal weekly racing procedures will remain the same but these drivers will be do battle over the 3 nights for the 2017 championship and their chunk of the over $8,000 points fund. The Points will reset as follows 1st- 10102nd- 10093rd- 10084th- 10075th- 1006and continuing down in 1 point increments for any additional qualifying drivers  We hope this is a fantastic opportunity to enhance our program for the area drivers and grow our fan base in the community. Please support and thank the great sponsors that came forward to make this happen for 2017 and we look forward to seeing everyone in Sames Ford Victory Lane this season. HiTech
you just have to hope for good weather ..if season can not be finished during the chase .what then .don't want anyone mad so a clear up would be good .I know dumb question but . Â I would rather see it called championship shoot out over chase .to nascar with chase .
arob
Yes it is a good idea to have a plan B and C. And I bet the committee has discussed it. Maybe start on the 16th instead of 30th.
SouthTxPromotions
Can you post your points structure please. Normal season and Chase season if its different.
South Texas Speedway
Stephan, Â The exact structure is being finalized. However it will follow IMCA points for the most part. We are just clarifying some possible circumstances that could occur. Example: a tie in points, rainout etc. Â We will have the final out very soon.
