Team Hogan Racing Mom
Texas Racers - on March 18th Raymond Delahoussaye will be hosting another practice at Houston Motorsports Park. He is opening it to all classes with the stipulation you contact him in advance. We need as many racers to show up as possible to show how many racers are serious about racing in Texas. A good showing of cars is imperative for the future of Texas asphalt racing. Please get the word out.

Team Hogan Racing Mom
Yes but it all depends on how many that show up to practice. The more cars that are there the less it will be.
Chipperd93
Am I reading this right? Is there a possibility of the HMP oval track getting up and running again?
Team Hogan Racing Mom
Their are people interested in leasing HMP to get some races going this year. However, they need to know if they lease it the racers will show up and support their efforts.
HiTech
seeing there is no paved racing going on in texas I really don't think the track will have any problems getting cars to show up .hope it works out ..w have a tps car looking for a place to race . rocket55
This is phenomenal news, I think it's fair to say ALL of us HMP contributors have missed the roaring engines, the sweet smell of torched fuel and burning rubber! Looking forward to the abundance of the Texas racing spirit to come alive again.
toyotatim
It is difficult to ask racers to commit to racing if they dont know who they will be racing for. Can you tell us who it is. Maybe they can have a meeting and discuss it with racers. It takes money to tow to Houston and practice. And why practice if the track is not even open? Just curious. RodneyRodriguez
Guys keep in mind Raymond is organizing these private test dates to keep all the pavement racers aware that there is still a place that could have events. Spoke in detail with him today and it is not the intent to imply HMP will re-open he is organizing these events as well so track operators and interested parties can see the level of interest in pavement racing. Support Raymond as you can and let's just keep our ears open.
Team Hogan Racing Mom
I didn't day Raymond was going to lease the track. There are other interested parties. His organised practice is a way to show those parties that we want a track open here on Texas and how many racers would show to race.
arob
Between the Houston cars/trucks and the Austin ones there should be over 20 cars per class! That would be cool!
NickHolt
Has anyone spoken to Graham about leasing the track? Last I knew, David Baker had to be bought out before any more oval track races could be held at HMP. But, if things have changed over the past couple of months, that would be great news. Rather learn i got a problem in my own backyard then 700 miles away from my shop.
JamesHigdon
There are folks interested in re-opening any of the 4 asphalt tracks in Texas; anytime people show up for an event like this is helps remind people there's a want out there for a track. bobbys
It would be a good place to shake down the cars and trucks going to Florida and wherever else to race for sure That is a fact That is a spectacular track foe sure

arob
If only the Houston area cars show that may not be enough. The San Antonio/Austin area cars need to show to put this over the top. If they see 20+ cars per class that would send a strong message and that would be easily attainable between those three. Good luck as HMP is a nice facility. HiTech
Arob if only Austin and sa cars would show up ..WE DONT HAVE CARS IN CORPUS . come on man where you been what are you drinking smoking huffing ... its obvious that no tracks are open this year .so the first one that does will be guaranteed cars ..cts did not have a problem with cars showing up .their are two choices .race where a track opens or park em . I would add a third choice but most cant travel the nation .. SO say it this way any car anywhere in texas and surrounding states want to race here is texas and wants to join in the proof is in the pudding show .SHOW UP . arob
Lol ! Thought that would get ya! The main point is to show up like you say . It would send a nice message if teams from all Four asphalt tracks show. Hopefully one of them can reopen soon.

rocket55
Well we will definitely be bringing out our Pro truck and possibly the stock car. All that's left is getting a set of new tires that won't kill the wallet. Anybody know of good place to get a set of new tires in Houston? Place or person...doesn't matter we just need new tires. We toasted the last set years ago hot lapping at HMP.
