Recommended Posts

Attention all Limited Late Model Drivers -

We are moving toward 1 Carburetor Rule for 2017 and are requesting your input.

Listed below are the options:

  • 1 - 500 CFM 4412 2 Barrel, including Holley 4412 Ultra
  • or 1 - 4 Barrel, Maximum 750 CFM

Please reply to post, PM me, or if you prefer call or text me at 361 739 8519 with your vote.

Please provide your name and car number.

You must be a registered LLM Driver to participate in this survey.

Please pass the word and Thank You for your participation in this request.

I will announce the Carburetor chosen by the majority on Monday 01/16/2017.

Important note: this will be a maximum carburetor rule, if the 750 CFM 4 Barrel is chosen by majority, a 650 CFM Vacuum Secondary or 2 Barrel will still be OK however there will not be any minimum weight adjustments made.

Run the 4 barrel, then you can basically run any carb you want. Anything over 750 cfm on a 364 or smaller motor is over carbed anyway.

#42 is a vacuum secondary 650

#15 is a 500 2 barrel

There is no difference in the engine performance - the difference in the 2 cars is the chassis setup (in particular rear %).

Gentlemen......... Thank You for your input on this carburetor survey.

I have tallied your votes and the out come is as follows:

  • 2 Barrel - 4412/Ultra 2
  • 750 CFM 4 Barrel 12

We will discuss this rule change for 2017 at our next STS Committee Meeting.

I am also planning on attending the I37 LLM Rules Meeting for further discussion on amending the carburetor rule.
