Clock ticking for another track

From what I read about the drag strip is they got a stay of execution you could say. Looks like they are going to run a limited schedule. The city for some reason is hard up to shut down the drag strip and the circle track but have been more persistent with the drag strip. From what I have seen is that the city wants to repurpose the land for a business park or housing development but the city really hasn't bought any surrounding land or put any proposals out for the project. Now I am getting this info 4th and 5th hand so how much of it true I'm not for sure.

I saw an article from Oct or Nov 2015 that the Cowtown property , which is literally next door to KSP, was sold for development but was still zoned commercial. Of all the tracks I've been to KSP was the best. I hope it can continue for a long time. Thanks for the updates and Merry Christmas to all.

sad parts is that the city holds all the card on this. when they say they are done then they are done. KSP puts out a full schedule every year hoping to run it. the racks are not in the master plan for the city. it is sad for sure.

Info I got first hand from a resident....city of Kennedale is broke..... homes valued at 150-250k are being built to try to re-coop funds through taxes.....Texas Raceway will be allowed to race once/month and Kennedale Spwy. keeps its full slate(for now).....Both have been/will continue to be under a time curfew....The city itself hates racing/racers and are even trying to force parts yards out of the city too.....Texas Raceway is looking to schedule multiple events on the same day to up spectator count and be able to keep its gates open on the limited schedule.....

This is one time that residents around the track aren't really the ones complaining as many are owned by racers.

arob....They(city of Kennedale) probably has a similar issue that San Antonio did with the SAS property and turning it residential.....Toxic waste.....That's part of what did Cowtown in to start this all off....It's "alleged" that someone blew the whistle to the city about all the old asbestos shingles that were once used to cover the property....Now I'm assuming here, that they were used on the drives to cover the mud.
