48th Annual Hillbilly Hundred Quickly Approaching

WAYCROSS, GA (August 25, 2016) - The oldest running event in dirt late model racing is just around the corner. The 48th Annual "Hillbilly Hundred" will take place on September 3rd-4th at Tyler County Speedway in Middlebourne, WV.

The stars of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will battle regional stand-outs, such as Tim Dohm, Jared Hawkins and Tyler Carpenter - all chasing a $25,000 top prize. Tyler County Speedway is accustomed to thrilling, edge of your seat racing action. In 2015, Scott Bloomquist snatched the lead away from Don O'Neal on lap 79. Bloomquist held off a hard-charging O'Neal for the final 21 circuits to score his second-career Hillbilly Hundred victory. Jonathan Davenport finished third, followed by Steve Francis and Devin Moran.

The festivities will kick off on Saturday, September 3rd with the "Hillbilly Fifty," which pays $4,000-to-win for Steel Block Late Models. Saturday's program will also include a $5,000-to-win event for Fastrak Late Models and a $2,000-to-win event for AMRA Modifieds. Additionally, heat races will be ran for the Hotmods and Mod Lites.

The action heats up on Sunday, September 4th, when the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series takes center stage for the "Hillbilly Hundred". The event will include a complete program of: Miller Welders Time Trials, Heat Races, B-Mains, and the 100-lap, $25,000-to-win main event. The Hotmods and Mod Lites will complete their $600-to-win events, plus the Ohio Valley Roofers Legend Car Series.
