getzum
Curious as to why the race was ended with four laps to go. I've heard a few peoples thoughts on why but would like to know the official reason as to why it was called early.
racer61
I believe the races were being hurried due to the threat of rain. So after two cautions I believe the decision to call the race at the next caution if it didnt go green to the end. That is what I heard from the official i was standing next to. JRfan
That is correct we were told over the scanner during the next to last caution that the next yellow flag would also end the race.
getzum
Fair enough. My driver heard the call over the radio as well but wasn't sure why the call was made. Weather was definitely threatening.
NickHolt
Curious as to why the race was ended with four laps to go. I've heard a few peoples thoughts on why but would like to know the official reason as to why it was called early. Central Texas Speedway Race Director, Chris Saathoff, instructed me to inform our drivers that the next yellow flag would also mean the race was over and that the yellow and checkered would be shown simultaneously if that were to occur. And it did. He explained that the threat of rain was forcing them to speed up the program. Nick
