Allscapes Back to School Special Saturday at CSP!

PEORIA, Ariz. (July 27, 2016) – Canyon Speedway Park is set to close out the month of July with this Saturday night’s Allscapes Back to School Special atop the 1/3-mile clay oval in the Phoenix area.

Headlining the night’s action are the USAC Southwest Sprint Cars and IMCA Modifieds with the IMCA Stock Cars vs. SCRA Stock Cars and IMCA Hobby Stocks vs. Renegades in action as well.

Saturday’s racing action goes green at 7:00 p.m.

While the racing action on the track will be intense, the kids cash in as well with a Backpack giveaway.

Leading the way into Saturday’s action in the USAC Southwest Sprint Car ranks is reigning champion R.J. Johnson. Johnson swept the most recent pair of events at CSP during May’s Salute to Indy and has topped the most recent pair of series events to extend his points lead to 107 markers.

With five overall USAC Southwest wins to his credit thus far in 2016, Johnson leads Charles Davis, Jr., Mike Martin, Matt Rossi and Stevie Sussex in the title chase. Sussex earned a series win at CSP on March 26.

In the Arizona Differential IMCA Modified ranks, Jason Noll guns for a third consecutive win after topping the Father’s Day Classic on June 18 and then the Mid-Summer Classic on July 9.

While Noll tries for the three-peat, Mike Strobl takes a 14 point edge into the night over Zack Madrid in the track’s title chase with Steve Stultz another nine points back in third.

A winner in five of the last six Allscapes IMCA Stock Car vs. SCRA Stock Car feature events, George Fronsman holds a 21 point advantage over Cody Center in the chase for the championship.

While Joe Vlasity has topped two of the last three Scottsdale Muffler & Automotive IMCA Hobby Stock vs. Renegade main events, it’s Richard Bennett that holds an 11-point lead Jason Crowe going into Saturday’s action with Jacob Madrid another eight points back in third.

Tickets to Saturday’s Allscapes Back to School Special are just $16 with a $3 discount for Military, Seniors and Students. Children ages 7-12 are $6, with children 6 and under admitted free. VIP passes are available for $20.
