looneedude Posted July 6, 2016 Report Share Posted July 6, 2016 South Texas Speedway has officially teamed up with Big Race Promotions for the South Texas 200 August 13th 2016 Enduro Racing is making a huge come back in Texas and South Texas Speedway in Corpus Christi is now a part of the growing rebirth of one of the most inclusive and exciting forms of motorsports!!! This past weekend at Heart O Texas, Cody Smith driving his black 999 took the checkered flag at the Star Spangled 200 presented by C and S Promotions, in a retired/revived 3 link modified with the red 70 Chevy Nova HMP style stock car of Sonny Hunt who unlapped him self from an early spin running him down in the closing laps. After 200 laps of green flag racing there were 5 drivers still on the lead lap all in contention for the win of the $2500.00 pay check. 3, 4 and 5 wide racing non stop for 200 laps!!! Big Race Promotions are the folks that brought us the Lone Star 600 (Oct 7th and 8th being the 3rd annual this year now held at Battle Ground Speedway in Highlands Tx just a few miles east of Houston) and the Tejas 200 at Gator Motorplex in Willis Tx., and now the SOUTH TEXAS 200. However the duties of Big Race Promotions are presented with the challenge of some what of a short time frame to get the word out with just over a month until Aug 13th!!! The Race car rules are simple and inclusive vs exclusive almost a run what ya brung. But with the enduro style racing the playing feild is leveled because you gotta be there at the finish!!! Just ask Tommy Page who is the only enduro repeat winner thus far since the return of enduro racing or AJ Dancer who took home the bonus at the 1st annual lone star 600 with the highest avg for the 2 day show. You got an old CC speedway car thats sitting out back, your cars been collecting dust in the garage since I 37 closed, your San Antonio Speedway car isnt legal any where within 900 miles, you were stuck with and old thunder stock your on the verge of taking to the scrap yard when thunder hill changed to cts and got rid of the class, you wanna sell your hmp stock car or truck but youve had 0 calls from your speedzone or racing junk classifieds. You hate the new super stock rules at CTS because youd have to race against "late models". They call you the wild man and you got a fleet of grand stocks and a trailer that holds 3 cars! Bring em down to Corpus August the 13th 1st place $3000 2nd place $1000 3rd place $1000 4th place $1000 5th place $1000 and purse payout for the remaining top 20 spots!!! You think enduros are just rolling demo derbys? Check out the youtube videos or the race on texas .com footage from the recent enduros! Its racing so of course theres a probability of a crash same as a 20 lap feature that pays $200 to win! Tires...nope no special track tire!! Not intersted on goin, ok no problem but in your circle of racing friends you hear the words dirt track or corpus or think you know some one that would want to go but hasnt heard yet please mention the South Texas 200..
