Schrader Night Up Next at Salina Speedway

by Dusty Wiegert

SALINA, Kan. — Last August a new face entered a night’s racing action at the Salina Speedway, but it was a very familiar one as NASCAR veteran Ken Schrader visited the 3/8 mile oval.

Schrader competed in the Long McArthur IMCA Modified division and finished a respectable sixth place after starting thirteenth in an exciting feature event that saw Corey Burch outlasting Corey Burch for the win.

He returns on Friday May 6th to go head to head against the local drivers once again.

The IMCA Modified division will also be racing for $1,000 to win, with the winning driver earning a place on the FastShafts All-Star ballot for IMCA SuperNationals. The event format will be draw/redraw.

Also on schedule for the evening: BSB Manufacturing NeSmith Late Models, Coors Light IMCA Stock Cars, M&H Motors IMCA Northern SportMods, Budweiser IMCA Hobby Stocks, and Bird Contracting IMCA Sport Compacts.

The night's events are presented by Phillips Motor Sports of Galva, Kansas. Owner Jerry Phillips will present a $100 bonus to an overall Hard Charger of the night, meaning the driver who passes the most cars during their feature event, from starting position to finishing position, will take home the prize.

Adult admission is only $10 with ALL KIDS 15 & under absolutely FREE with a paying adult! Seniors are $5 and Military both current & retired are also absolutely FREE!

Hot laps are set for 7:15PM with racing to follow around 8:00PM.
