GEORGE FOLLMER ADDED TO THE RACERS REUNION BANQUET LINEUP

 

 

 

There are drivers who have crossed over and had success in more than one series, but no one is as versatile as George Follmer. He began his career in Southern California and from there went on to compete in the USAC IndyCar series, Formula One, SCCA United States Road Racing, International Race of Champions, NASCAR, Trans-Am and Can-Am, to mention a few.

 

Not only did Follmer compete…he won. He is the only driver to win the Trans-Am and Can-Am championships in the same year. Early in his career he was the SCCA United States Road Racing Champion. He also won on the oval in an IndyCar at Phoenix International Raceway, driving against a star-studded field. Follmer tallied countless podium finishes, as well.

 

In addition to the feature presentation on the greatest midget car drivers we are honored to have George Follmer as a special guest at the 2016 Racers Reunion Banquet. As you can imagine, with Follmer racing against the best drivers in the world, he not only developed a talent for winning but he participated in a host of special encounters that he will share with the group
