Sorry for those who lost this Saturdays race. It happens too often for this track.

Now here's the deal. The track officials are looking at the Sport Compacts now, finally, but have not put in stone the rules package we will have to follow just yet. They realize how diverse our cars are and are studying and taking notes about the cars that actually race. Currently they are correcting safety violations to keep us safe. Nobody gets DQed but are told what needs fixing. Not wanting to discourage any contestants they have encouraged ALL racers with any interest in racing compacts/mines to bring your car and race plus show what direction you are inclined to follow. If you don't race you have 0 impute. So bring them, and show them what you got. Once the final draft is established its too late.

We have many issues to resolve but the tiny purse does not justify our natural nature to turn to cannibalism We finally have a track that is NOT going away and is NOT going to fail us but we need to do our part. The last 2 shows were as good as any series so keep it going. Show your car and petition your preferences. Right now everything is on the table including reverting back to mini stocks if that's what will be successful. A frontrunner class if that will create success. Or remaining a Sport Compact series including all of the above. What does Corpus Christi want?

So I ask, don't stay home because some are bitching and don't bitch about those that come. Bring your best.Make you input count and SHOW what you have. Lets share with our management what we really are. They are willing to learn.

Our next race is next week................getter done.

I have one and Thumper wants another shot at you Mr Fast Ford! And with the others picking up the pace it might not be so easy next time. Don't be scart.

As far as Pro Sedans, they might find it somewhat a challenge to race the track first like we do. That fish out of water deal. They might soemeday have to however.

Theres an easy fix for that but you don't want to. Find someone to loan you a set of sumotomos and see what you got. There goes easy.

With the conditions of track when we racing on April 16th which some us would agree that night were slick some of us were trying to control our cars. Here is idea I have is to allow us to get netto neogen which can be order through Discount Tire and it is a cheaper tire that everyone can afford. It is just idea I have with it. I am a front runner 94dg. Some of you guys know me from the track.

So after talking to some of the drivers seems to me it's not just the track that can't come up with a set of rules but every every time rules are brought up you have a couple of people that don't want then and so nothing gets accomplish I say get everybody together and vote don't let just 1 or 2 people no matter how long they been racing or if they are new decide for wverybody.everybody should have a voice and if you loose one or two cars sorry but you will probably gains 3 or 4 car with a set of rules in place jmo

We have a sport compact . I really don't pay attention to the rules as for tires or engine and etc . I am more concerned with the saftey than what in the car as of now . Later down the road if we get fast and get dq then I will worry about other aspects of the car and rules . I think car saftey is more important than tire or engine since we are beginning. JMO

Having a drivers meeting for this class would be good. Yes there is a bit of a gap between the cars out there right now, I for one have one of those cars. Some of the problem with this class is not enough of one type of car to have a consistent class with car count. Yes I ran this car in the Texas Pro Sedan series but it does have stock frame (pinto) stock arms, stock springs front and rear, stock fire wall and most of the original floorboard. the interior is decked, and after a slight bump on the front stretch a slightly reshaped body. This is a purpose built asphalt car that we decided to go run at STS after the STP races got cancelled and the regular season began. I have petitioned for a drivers meeting since November to get everyone together to figure this out and if it comes down to where we would be voted out then so be it, I don't have a problem with that. I can very easily put it back in the barn.

I am a Racer and that is what I want to do but if it becomes a problem I could just as easily become a fisherman and trade the car for my boat and do something different. My intent is to race and have a good time and help build this class up because lets face it if there are no cars there is no class, no class no racing. It is as simple as that. Trust me I have been on both sides of the fence for a few years and this class need cars and drivers to help the new drivers become the drivers they have always wanted to be, I'm here to help.

So if it is decided that we are going to have a meeting just let us know so we can ALL be on the same page and that way there would not be more finger pointing and so on.

I know I don't have a car at the race track and have not had one in a few years I'm not going to say what the rules should be. I do Havea mustang that's all gutted setting in my garage, a roll cage to go in it, the motor is setting waiting to be built. I have stopped building itbecause I didn't know if there was going to be a place to race it. I did want to build a similar car like we race in the Texas thunder classtowards the end of it but I'm just going wait and see what rules are decided on.

So if there is a drivers meeting would you attend and if you like what you hear would you finish your car? This class needs all the cars it can get and your input would be welcomed.

Who else out there is in the same situation??
