South Texas Nationals shaping up to be huge, here are the details

Recommended Posts

As of today we have 90 registered cars on the books. Outstanding guys that is twice the number of the South Texas Getha$ome. It appears that all classes will most likely hit the purse guarantee of 25 cars as well. That is OUTSTANDING. Currently mini stocks only need 5 additional cars, street stocks 7 additional cars and limited modifieds only 2 more needed to reach purse guarantee and I believe all 3 will reach that with no problems.

I also believe that the pure stocks and limited modifieds will both reach 35 cars to recieve the $1,000 purse bonus. It might be a stretch for mini and streets but they could be in the running for their bonus as well. With the addition of Mod Lites friday and saturday along with the sprintcars on Saturday only we will be well over 150 cars on Saturday. The pits at South Texas Speedway have had alot of work completed to allow for more cars and parking. With that being said we will limit the pits to tow rigs and RV's only. No single vehicles allowed in the pits Friday and Saturday. Over night stay at the track is allowed all 3 nights.

Swenson Racing Components will be on hand for fuel, parts and tires.

Format Friday

All cars Friday Night will run 2 heat races. Therefore when you register you will draw 2 chips for starting position. You may purchase another chip for $5 if you are not happy with the first 2 chips drawn. The heat race will consist of no less then 6 cars no more then 10 cars. You will receive finishing position points and passing points from each of your heat races. We will take the top 6 drivers in points from friday night results. In the event of a tie in points for the 6th position we will take the all drivers that have tied.

Format Saturday

All nonqualified drivers will draw for starting position for B Main races. No rebuys allowed on Saturday draw. Minimum of Top 7 drivers advance from each B Main. We could take more depending on class car count and if a last chance qualifer is needed. For the classes with large car count we will run Last Chance Qualifiers that will determine the final 4 positions of the 24 starting spots.
