Any interest in old race cars?

I posted a while back with a picture of my uncle's old 55 Chevy racer from the 60s. I know there have to be some others on here that enjoy the history of the track. Anyone have pictures or memories of racer from days gone by? Dub Rollins and many others? I came across another from my uncle, this time I think it is a 50 Ford, though I can't be sure. Looks like it had a hard life!

Pink 57 Chevy #82, the Bu-Ru Special driven by Bruce Sholars .Back then they raced regular program on Saturday night and a 100 lap feature on Labor Day Monday. Saturday night the car went over the wall in turn 3 totaling it.They found another 57 Chevy Sunday morning and my job was stripping the interior while the rest of the crew took what they could off the old car, The new car was ready to go unpainted at 5:30PM Labor Day Monday and finished 2nd or third if I remember right .Went from 9AM Saturday to mIdnight or so Monday with little or no sleep !

Looking back at those old tanks and the safety equipment or lack of compared to today its amazing not many drivers were spending time in the hospital I have seen some really bad wrecks back then and cant recall to many drivers really hurt or least the drivers were really good at hiding the pain .. billy hardcastle took I think the longest highest and hardest flight time and landing at cc speedway that one hurt his back and he stopped racing shortly after that but lucky to be alive .. don yokum sr hit the pit wall head on during a figure 8 race at cc in i think a mid 50s cadi . again lucky .bruce bedoe went on to hit that same spot as don did ..

Thanks for the pictures, guys. Love, em and keep em coming! As a kid of the 70s I remember going to watch my uncle race and it is still one of the things I would relive if I could. I loved going to the track photographer's booth and looking at the pictures of the cars he had for sale. I wish I knew what happened to all his negatives. They would make a great picture book for all us history types!

John Allen Brooks. He was around the track for years as far as I know. I don't know much about his racing or anything. I didn't really know him all that well, it seems. I just remember there being old race cars sitting outside my grandfolk's house growing up. He worked for Chevy dealers around the area for a long time. He passed about 10 years ago.
