Now That the Season Has Officially Ended

Recommended Posts

I've been going to races all my life but this year has been one of the most enjoyable and also eye opening years ever. It was the first year I was able to be a track/series official and if you haven't done it, it's definitely different from being in the stands or in the car. I have gained so much respect for track owners, promoters, series promoters, and all that plan these special events. I would like to thank Stephan Danielsen for allowing me to join his STP/STSSS crew and even had the opportunity to help the USMTS show at Shady Oaks Speedway. The planning and logistics that go into each race and the coordination needed is mind blowing and it's a small miracle any race gets run. As a driver, I vow to try not to be too harsh on officials for in race decisions or when they have to make a decision based on weather or other logistical factors, not an enviable position and most do what they can to put on the show as scheduled.

Back to the Street Stock Shootout Series, every official and driver, it's been a pleasure to work with each and everyone of you. I would like to congratulate the now 5 Time Series Champion, Wade Jones and 2015 Rookie of the Year, Kyle Carter on their great seasons and the rest of the drivers that competed with us this season. You all have been a truly great and professional group to work with and it is a really good, talented group of drivers from the young guns all the way up to the most seasoned veteran drivers, thank you for an enjoyable year.

The other people I would like to thank are the track owners and promoters that hosted us this season. The Stacy Family at Shady Oaks, Ken Hobbs at South Texas Speedway, and Danny Bennett at Cotton Bowl Speedway. Without you guys and your crews, we would not have been able to put on races across Central and South Texas. All 3 tracks were more than hospitable and cordial with each visit. Wish all 3 tracks (and every track) well for 2016 and will try to visit all this coming season.

Finally, I would like to thank each series, track and car sponsor. I don't care if you gave $1 or $10000 or more or provided logistical support, South Texas racing needs each and everyone of you and more to keep it alive and well.

So one final THANK YOU to everyone above for making 2015 the most enjoyable year of racing in my life. Everyone enjoy your holidays and I'll see you in 2016 at a racetrack somewhere in Texas.
