Unfortunately this year show after show has fallen victim to rain. Nobody benefits when you have so many hours putting a big show together, getting a car ready or saving up money to participate in it then to have mother nature mess it all up. We want to race as much as you maybe even more so it’s really not an enjoyable decision we are faced with. Yes, we have been reading everyone’s last minute ideas and there was a bunch out there. We at STP are not interested in doing anything that takes away from our event and exposure that is anything less then a first class event that was planned from the very start. The logistics outside of getting drivers and cars to the track is a lot and can not be thrown together. In most cases a thrown together show will only back fire and hurt future opportunities. So before proceeding please bear with us for the following information:

With great disappointment we are canceling the 2015 Getcha$ome event. We have waited till Thursday 5pm because in our opinion that’s the last possible minute to see if any forecast changes were going to happen that might allow us to proceed with a favorable chance. Unfortunately since Wednesday morning the forecast changed from small percentage Saturday to very large percentage and now the majority of forecasters or computer models are now all finally in agreement with each other.

So where do we go from here? You need to download and print a registration / pit pass request form. On this form we will need some basic information and confirmation prior to mailing any checks. STP will fully refund everyone’s registration money in every class. When you mail this form in you will need to attach your 3-day pit pass as well. Fill the form out completely which includes how many passes you have mailed back.

Now here is the plan for registrations. On the form you can request your registration money to be mailed back to you which will happen as soon as we receive it or you may apply that registration toward our next big STP event. South Texas Speedway will host the 2nd Annual STP South Texas Nationals on March 10th, 11th and 12th. All of the Nationals information will be posted so you may look at details surrounding it before making your decision. Once you decide no matter what direction you want to proceed you need to fill out the form so we can direct your registration money where you want it to go. The form has a physical address to mail to us or an email address that it can be sent to for immediate processing.

Now here is the plan for 2 or 3 day pit passes. On the same form you need to fill in on the blank provided how many passes your mailing back. We will honor the Saturday portion of the 3-day pass; its worth is $30 our advertised pit pass amount. Upon receiving the completed form and attached pit passes we will mail out to you your registration amount paid and send you new pit passes that can be used at the 2016 South Texas Nationals.

Next, we currently have a facility ready! At least until its damaged by rain. It’s our plan to offer the local racers if they desire to come out and practice. We will open gates at 3pm-start practice at 6pm. We know this isn’t what you’re really hoping for but this is the next best thing we can offer. STP will throw in $100 to 6 classes. Mini Stock, Emod, Pure Stock, Street Stock, Limited Late Model and Limiteds at 8pm will be given a chance to run 2 timed laps. Quickest lap of your class will win $100 cash. All 6 winners will be added to a brand new plaque that will be hung in Turn 5 Bar. The winner names will be added to the plaque as the 2015 quickest time per class. We will incorporate this into next years 2016 South Texas Getcha$ome event. Your name will always be on the plaque as we add each year’s new winners to it.

Finally, we do want everyone to know that we have been in your shoes. Rainouts, postponing or canceling is not something we even want to consider if it can be avoided. We know what drivers paid early registeration versus late registeration so the amount you have paid

isnt in question. However, you may opt to have your registration refund sent back to you or you can

apply the registration toward the March 10, 11th, and 12th South Texas Nationals. This decision

is entirely up to you.

 

Regarding 2 and 3 day pit passes:

 

If you purchased a 2 or 3 day pit pass we had plans to honor them on Dec 12th for admittance.

Due to the cancellation of this event we will refund the 3rd and final day that was not able to be run.

Please fill this form out at the top and staple your armbands to it. Write down in the space

provided down below how many you are stapling so we can account for what you are mailing to us.

You must have armbands to receive credit or refund NO EXCEPTIONS.

SAD DEAL ... I like to say thank you and all involed trying behind the seen to put on a show and taking the gamble to do so .its tuff ... first time dealing with stp and looking forward to next year with sts and stp as we move over to more dirt racing ..thanks a big for inviting the mini stock class to join your show and inviting the tps cars to run as well .
