SuperStreet/SuperStock at CCS/CTS

Ok with the rules CCS and CTS being the same and the tracks racing on different dates I was wondering why none of the CTS SS cars travel to CCS to race .

With only two asphalt tracks open in Texas I would think supporting both would be beneficial to the drivers and tracks .

JMO Thanks

poorboy did not pay attention to the walls my first race in 89 till I was pushed into them and rolled over on my top ..came back the next week and still did not pay attention ...hey you have guard rails on the high way .whats the differents .. besides if you hit or rub the wall you know just how far out you can go ..simple ..

I was working John but I have been to several of the drivers meeting in Kyle . Did they tell them something new ?

The whole point of the topic was to see what it would take to get more SS cars racing at CCS . There are only 2 asphalt tracks currently running in Texas and the SS class is good in Kyle but I would love to see the car count in CC up but I guess it's a mute subject with drivers who only see the negative at a track and don't see the positive .

With that being said I look forward to continue supporting CCS and CTS

You asphalt guys in Corpus have a choice to make.Support CCS or CTS will be the only place to race.No need rehashing this or that ,everyone knows the stories. No question the surface needs a little help. But before that can be done the track needs a commitment from the racers. Why should CCS put in the $$$ and work just to get 4-8 local cars a class.Gotta say Dan has held on longer than he should. It is only his love for CCS and its history that keeps him going.Believe me,no one else is going to step up and save it.No doubt there are a lot of bridges that need to be rebuilt, from both directions. For CCS to continue the hatchets MUST be buried and a new beginning must happen. I still believe two tracks can survive in Corpus. The CCS folks must act NOW.CTS could care less what happens here so don't look to them to save CCS.You gotta do it yourselves.

AROB I will agree on many of your points. the one I wont agree with is cts don't care bout ccs .I have heard them speak or announce races going on at ccs to their fans sitting in the stands CLASSY RIGHT THERE .they make a point in letting fans know that and what cars tow up and support cts ...MANY DO .and they thank the locals who do travel they know it isn't cheap ..infact we have had folks drive up to watch local cars race and some have never been to a race before and plan on going back ...now with that I hope you are saying cts drivers don't care in certain class..that I will agree with you if that is what you meant ..but why and how can that be fixed is up to those drivers .local racers and the track ..........

It was pretty much aimed at one class. I know the touring classes show and I think a few Pures showed a few times. But I am not talking about only this year either. The support for each other is pretty one sided even when Abel ran it but thats ok I guess CTS was almost dead at one point and they worked hard to bring it back.Shady Oaks and STS mention each other all the time and STXSSS mentions all the tracks they run at.Just saying CCS is kinda on the ropes and only the locals can save it.

Arob you are correct in the fact that if people don't step up and support CCS maybe one day Dan will give up on the people who gave up on the track . He is the only one who kept CCS from being a mini storage facility and kept it as a track . Not one track owner or promoter is perfect so everyone needs to let the past BS go and race . Dan has and still helps any racer who needs help getting their cars ready but most over look that part . Hopefully the racers who want to see a SS class and local track will support CCS . Two asphalt tracks are better than one

That's kinda the point, well one of them Wayne. The other is the argument that CC drivers support CTS so would be nice to get it back but it doesn't happen generally speaking and everyone has their reasons. Point being you have one asphalt track doing ok, one closed this year and one hanging on but needs support.

Very true , Mr. Duncan. Mr. Walker , it is not up to outside to that is true.Corpus guys have supported CTS for years. But there are only two asphalt tracks left and I doubt any new ones will be built.it is a little different I think. One place in the whole State Of Texas would be sad(but great for that one place I guess).Plus the history of CCS.Losing CCS would be like losing Devils Bowl or Heart of Texas.I admit it is a little selfish on my part.I went to CCS since 1956-1979 off and on til Owen took it and every week he had it.Most racers down here have raced there.Like I said before Mr. Monroe is hanging on just for the love for the place and its history.Asphalt racers should help if not only for that reason.

My opinion, its not us racers jobs to show up at other tracks just because. You have to put something out there to catch my attention. Better purse, other awards like TALMS is doing, etc. If I race at one track thats 45 min away, why go further? I would go maybe 2 times next year just for a small change in tracks. In reality, the locals of CC speedway need to step it up. Not out of Towner's. Put a good purse together, advertise it and go from there.

Like I said before, I had no idea the class was running at CCS. I will give the owners a thumbs up for keeping the track alive. I don't care about the purse money but if I go out of town then I do care.

CTS supports CC Speedway 100%. Goes without saying we are so grateful for the following we have in the pits and in the stands. I'm sure logistics factor in to the lack of cars somewhat as well as budgets but I would love to see 12-15 of these cars that track. Surface may be tough but makes it more of a challenge. Regardless I look forward to being there with weekend with dwarf car. Thanks for the place to race Dan.
