2016 rule addition

Recommended Posts

We will enforce a 53% rear percentage maximum limit on weight for 2016. Thats is the only rule we will be changing for next season.

Just a simple question stephan. If all cars can run 53% why would you even make the change. Seems its just something extra to pay attention to.

With limiteds being converted into street stocks and running between 56-59% rear weight the older current street stocks can not come close to matching that. I don't see a reason for drivers to feel they can't compete against that with a car only a couple years old. Lots is cars being built and this should help keep older cars still in the game for next year.

In section #2 of the rules it gives reference to the vehicles appearance. Is this a rule that will soon be enforced? There are cars running in the class that look like modified bodies with a plastic nose. Seems this could be addressed along with the new rear % rule. Street Stocks have always been a OEM roof and fender class. Looks like only a few running took the time to install a more conforming body during the limited to Street Stock conversion. Thinking of doing my own conversion for next year and would hate to be the first that is "closely scrutinized"

We encourage teams to build their bodies if they desire too. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. We have made each of the converted limiteds make changes to their bodies. When it comes to home made bodies some look better then others and until you actually build one you might not realize how difficult it can be. We will continue working w our teams like we have this year.
