WaerRacing00
Compare...can they become the same...is it all motor difference?
cblgdc
Wouldn't you think to the fan in the stands hears Pure Stock or Factory Stock ,they think the car is like it comes from the factory originally which would make these names one and the same. Shows how messed up the rules are . Then you have street stock and guys are running chassis that cost 10 times more than car cost from the factory ! arob
Good point.Hobby stock for Pure and Super Street for Street would be more accurate.Factory stock seems to fit between Pure and Street to me. Sportsman maybe? Gotta say I sure miss you and your car , cblgdc. The class hasn't been the same.
top_shelf_12
What little I've seen is the Factory Stocks allow a custom build chassis, may be able to play with weight percentages maybe? Suspension package looks a little different and they (in some areas) can run a different tire. Just observations I've seen but could be wrong, never took the time to sit and compare rules before. top_shelf_12
Will say Factory Stocks appear to be a little faster but maybe, maybe not.

But must have a 447 max lift amd they allow 175 compression.

BobbyJack
I SAY GO RACE IF YOU CAN AFFORD TO RACE AND WIN NOTHING. racing is fun I have lost money plenty of races but its neat to say you have raced at whatever track. I have won at cc speedway, STS, I 37, 2nd at Edna, 18th at HRP, 15TH? AT CTS, no feature win at Shady Oaks yet, but I have had lots of fun and not done yet. jmo
WaerRacing00
Was just curious why us down here have all these different rules/classes but yet we try to draw the cars from Houston area down here
top_shelf_12
Houston guys have both classes and some run the IMCA banner. What I noticed in Goliad at the Nationals in February were tires and rearends as the main difference with the purpose built chassis as opposed to a "stock" former street legal chassis. Those Houston cars did well but is it a huge advantage or just better driving that weekend? I'm not too sure.
SouthTxPromotions
Houston has only run factory stocks for 2 years. Their current street stock rules are 2 years old as well.
top_shelf_12
Factory Stocks must be a north/east Texas thing, big enough to have an annual $10,000 to win race at Boothill, or around that Ark-La-Tex area. Imagine the insanity of a $10,000 to win Pure Stock race, especially if it were only Pure Stock drivers in it.
thumper
Just curious but how new are the latest year model cars in either division, I don't remember any RWD cars in about 20 years , am I mistaken?
