South Texas Speedway
Penalties: We again had a driver speed through the pits. This driver recognized his emotions got the best of him and placed a penalty on himself without me having to do so. He wrote a check to the Shriners for $200 and will be on probation. South Texas Speedway will be consistent on speeding in the pits, if you speed we will fine you $200 on the first offense! Unacceptable behavior: When you are on the track in front of fans you are expected to act in a professional manner. We had a circumstance where a driver got out of his car, flipped off the audience and cursed at them. This is unacceptable to people who pay to see you all race. This is a bad example for kids in the stands and is detrimental to the longevity of South Texas Speedway. This will stand as a warning to everyone you will not be welcome at South Texas Speedway if you treat our fans in a dis respectable manner. Thank you, Ken Hobbs

South Texas Speedway
HiTech, I believe this was not a safety issue and believe a warning for everyone is the correct path. In the future after everyone being advised in this manner a penalty may be warranted. I have faith in our drivers that this will not happen again. Sometimes we all know it, it just takes a reminder. top_shelf_12
Kudos to the driver for self-policing and I'm sure the Shriner's will appreciate that donation. Hopefully those acts will stop especially if it's reoccurring.

top_shelf_12
The other driver has apologized as well and was being heckled from the stands. Think it was just an emotional deal, heat of the moment stuff.
