Saturday September 5th

So nobody is racing the 5th because of an event in IOWA that starts the 7th? Makes perfect sense.

It does. You don't run a local race and, at a minimum, have to do post race maintenance and track setup changes (not to mention the very real possibility of doing major damage to the car), before a big money and big prestige race that will take you a long days drive to reach even if you can rule out tow rig flats, breakdowns, etc. For a max gain of a few hundred to win before expenses, and at the cost of wearing out the crew and making mistakes before the big race even starts it makes no sense at all.

We're running Waco (HOT) on the 4th then leaving soon as the races are over to run Boone on the 5th (15hr drive). Mods practice 6th-8th and races start on the 9th. Those days we will watch the late models, hobbies, sport compact and B-mods race for there spot in Saturdays A main. Last year we raced at different tracks on our way up but this year with the nationals being a week later all the tracks regular seasons are over with IMCA points coming to an end. Most of the tracks either don't race during the nationals or race without points being awarded. Can't wait, it's gonna be a blast.

I'm sure you represent the majority of the southwestern racers and fans. There are literally thousands of IMCA cars and fans in the southwest (Texas and New mexico alone), I look at the results every year from Boone and maybe 10-15 cars from down here are up there.

What my point is is that a race track, not a driver that is taking his car to boone, could have a very successful show that weekend because nobody's competing with them. There are A LOT more fans and cars not going to Iowa than are.

Make it a non points race if you like and add some money, I bet you it would be a success.

Two day show in Goliad Sept 4-5, Mods and Sport Mods running both nights, your IMCA car should be legal there as Racer26 usually runs there and they're taking their cars to Boone and they've cleared tech at CBS. Assuming you have a Mod/Sport Mod. Sport Mod class there is good and maybe some of those CBS cars that didn't go to Boone will be there. Street Stock Shootout with a two night bash as well.

Where are all the IMCA cars going on September 5th? I can't find a single track running IMCA classes that night. Unless I'm forgetting one.

Ok, to clarify this for you....ALL IMCA tracks close/run non-sanctioned during Super Nationals week(most choose to not run at all or run non-IMCA classes).....Always have, always will....It's been that way as long as I can remember....it's a points thing more than anything since IMCA points end at the end of September....If tracks ran a points race then guys in championship chases that would have gone to Boone wouldn't go to secure their track points.....Make more sense now?
