og39ss
For those who were complaining about rev limiters their were quite a few that never hit the chip.

dirtracer99
I understand that but this is a class for begginers and low budget racers and the class originated at sts so the cars are probably geared for that track. Therefor there shouldn't be anyone hitting rev limiters. On the other hand shady oaks is reasonably bigger then sts so being low budget racers there probably isn't a gear change being made. So with this explanation I ask my question again why would there be cars hitting rev limiters at sts? Just wondering.
top_shelf_12
My guess, you carry more speed through the turns at STS, not off the gas long so probably more banging out at STS. Watching a few of the other classes from the infield at both tracks, STS is faster and sounds like you turn more revs at STS. I'm guessing at this but just observations from infield, nit in the cars, I'm not sure what the actual RPMS are.
HiTech
I know of one car hits his at both tracks and no gear changes ...think about it .some may have been running second gear while others were in low gear . I would never suggest some would monkey around inside the rev box ..lol// never ....
sm002
I have heard from a few people that run both tracks in other classes that run the same gear for sts and sos.
top_shelf_12
Same here, I know the Pure Stocks do, a few anyways.
Exjet145
If you get the tires broke loose getting off the corner, you will more than likely get on the chip if you don't back off the throttle.
drew
Dirtracer99, I hit my chip at sts. If a chip is set at 6400..then the gears need to be such to hit it on entry. This means you have the power band the entire length of the straights while not sacrificing corner speed by needing alot of brake because the gears help turn the car off gas. Sounds simple considering the track conditions change throughout the night. but the principle is the same. ESP if your a heavy car like the ss..Throttle response is a big factor because alot of guys want to mash the gas and they end up blazing the tires and hitting the chips mid straight. Its a balance but its my opinion that you should wan tto hit the limiter rt at entry. Just my two cents.
SouthTxPromotions
The e mods are very limited to what transmission and gears they can run. They don't run 9 inch rear ends or transmissions with multiple gear options. And even though there are some beginners out there in this class its far from a beginner class. Budget class yes but not a beginner class.
