Nitro Jam Nationals Presented by Good Vibrations at Spokane County Raceway Final Results

 

 

 

 

AIRWAY HEIGHTS, Washington

 

(July 11, 2015) -The final night of the inaugural Nitro Jam Nationals presented by Good Vibrations brought with it fast E.T.'s and speeds as every professional class winner posted their quickest times in the final round of eliminations to bring home an Ironman trophy.

 

 

 

 

The AMSOIL Nitro Funny Cars presented by Aeromotive came down to local driver, Kris Krabill from Kent, Washington and 2014 Nitro Funny Car Champion, Jason Rupert. The duo took off from the starting line side-by-side but it would be Rupert that posted the fastest speed of the evening and took home the win. Rupert had a 5.640 second run at 258.62 mph and was just shy of breaking the IHRA world record.

 

 

 

The Nitro Harley class made a rare appearance in the Northwestern U.S. over the weekend. Randal Andras went up against Mike Pelrine in the final round of the Nitro Jam Nationals presented by Good Vibrations. Pelrine's dominant weekend continued as he was declared the winner with a 6.492 second run at 216.60 mph against Andras' 6.891 at 199.82 mph.

 

 

 

The number one qualifier in Jet Dragster competition, Marisha Falk took the win over 2014 Jet Dragster Champion Elaine Larsen in the final round at Spokane County Raceway. Falk had a 5.887 second run at 270.10 mph while Larsen posted a 5.994 second, 270.10 mph pass down the quarter-mile drag strip.

 

 

 

The Blown Alcohol Thunder and Pro Alcohol Funny Car classes made a special appearance at Nitro Jam as they competed for IHRA Ironmen trophies as well. Elaine Sellers from Spokane Valley, Washington took the win over number one qualifier Justin Jackson in the Pro Alcohol Funny Cars. "Lady Elaine" had a quick 6.539 second run at 216.81 mph. In Blown Alcohol Thunder, Dane Lachelt had a 6.414 second run at 216.86 mph over Kyle Hansen's 6.526 second run at 208.86 mph.

 

 

 

The Nitro Jam Nationals presented by Good Vibrations marked the first trip to the Northwestern U.S. for IHRA's national series. Spectators filled the stands to witness the event that featured professional and sportsman racing at Spokane County Raceway. Summit sportsman racing will continue tomorrow as a stand-alone day of nonstop racing.
