Some pickups, cars and even a race car or two are out on the track at this time trying to dry up the racing surface.... And one of the larger trucks spun in turn four and is stuck in the infield mud!

We just missed a cell... just got a few sprinkles... That was close. I could see the rain pouring down less than a quarter-mile away... I know there are more cells popping up all around us, but I have to hand it to CTS, they are doing all they can to get this one up and running.

I left the track around 7:20 and just got home... As I got close to the house in NW San Antonio, I got a tornado warning and things got very black and very gusty winds and sheets upon sheets of pounding rain.

I made it home, but go soaked from the car to the front door... Get word that the tornado was just a few miles from our house over in Leon Valley which is really just part of NW San Antonio.

Glad it missed you, hopefully things calm down soon. We just made it back in about 30 minutes ago. Nothing too serious but a lot of lightning from 1604/37 to Pleasanton area. We have a line heading our way now so hope all the fans, racers, and staff made it home.

Dang you must drive slow , nice seeing you and arob at the pilot ...i got more laps trying to dry the track in than ever got racing ..my day started about 430 am with thunder and flashing lights in the sky and it did not get a whole lot better the rest of the day .Alot of folks rode out the weather and did what they could to make it HAPPEN ...WAS it a good call to try to get the race in knowing the stands would most likely to be empty ..low car counts for some would not take the chance to haul .glad i am not in that position to decide . though i was one who would have called it early standing from the outside looking in wet feet makes your mind up in some shape or form ...ill give a shout out to those who have to make the call .they stand to lose or gain more or less than any of us, letter E for effort .. the voice i heard on the cancel over the p.a .had a lot of sadness in it ..we all felt pain today .we all know this was not easy ..we all can question the calls to both ways .damn if you dont and damn if you do ..next time they could pull the plug too early and get burned anyway ..

Stopped for gas and to eat. Just got home a little while ago. About 3 or 4 miles down 80 it stopped raining and hadn't rained there all day it looked like. Never saw another drop all the way to La Porte.
