NickHolt
RUSTY YOUNG STILL UNDEFEATED IN MAINS AFTER HMP The Dwarf Car Racing Series of Texas (DCRST) has suffered some weather issues in 2015 with back to back rain outs at South TX Speedway and Central Texas Speedway but this past Saturday was perfect for what turned out to be race #2 on the season. One thing not effected by the weather issues was Rusty Young (88) of Helotes. After a feature race win at the season opener in Kyle (TX) Young repeated that feat taking the heat race and main event at the immaculate Houston Motorsports Park. After starting shotgun to the 15 car field Young quickly made his way to the front of the field chasing Arden Vikre (72) and Dwain Groff (14) and taking the point on lap 4. The 88 car set set sail and the battle from second on back, a hard charging Todd McLemore suffered a spin on lap 8 while in second position. That would be the strongest challenge as the field continued to battle to the finish. Kevin Hubbard (3) picked up a heat race win Saturday afternoon. The crowd at HMP was indeed treated to one of the most intense races in recent memory as the top 11 cars finished within six seconds of the race winner.
