Four-night Double H Bands Southern Region swing on tap for USMTS

 

ARDMORE, Okla.-The cartel of carbureted USMTS cowboys will be back in the saddle this week as they gallop though Oklahoma, Texas and Louisiana for a four-night swing through the Double H Bands Southern Region presented by Day Motor Sports.

 

All four events will pay $3,000 to win.

 

The week starts off on Wednesday, April 22, at the Southern Oklahoma Speedway in Ardmore, Okla. Limited Mods will also be on the card with gates opening at 5 p.m. with racing at 7:30. Adults are $20, kids ages 6-12 and seniors are $15. Pit passes are $35.

 

The Southern Oklahoma Speedway is a semi-banked 3/8-mile clay oval located 0.7 mile east of I-35 (exit 29) on US 70, then 1.8 miles south on US 77. For more information call 405-627-1766 or click www.southernoklahomaspeedway.com to visit the track's official website.

 

From there, the series moves back to the Dallas-Fort Worth area for a do-over on Thursday, April 23, at the RPM Speedway in Crandall, Texas, with Wingless Sprint Cars and Limited Mods also racing. Gates open at 3 p.m. with racing at 7:30. A family pack (2 adults, 4 kids 12 & under) is just $35. Otherwise, adult tickets are $17, seniors and military with ID are $15, kids ages 6-12 are $5 children 5 and under are free. Pit passes are $40.

 

The RPM Speedway is a semi-banked 1/4-mile dirt oval located southeast of Crandall on US 175 on CR 4106 (Bud Stoy Rd. exit) to the intersection of CR 4104. For more information, call 972-217-2766 or check out http://www.rpmspeedwaytexas.com online.

 

On Friday, April 24, the series slides into the Ark-La-Tex Speedway in Vivian, La., for the 6th USMTS Annual Cajun Clash. Adult grandstand tickets are $20, seniors and military are $15, kids ages 6-12 are $5 and children ages 5 and under are free. Pit passes are $35. Race time is 7:30 p.m. Limited Mods, ProMods and Factory Stocks will also be in action.

 

The Ark-La-Tex Speedway is located 0.6 mile south of SR 2 on SR 1, then 0.7 mile west on Airport Rd., then 2.2 miles south on Boyter Lane Rd. For race day information, call the track hotline at 318-375-3470 or click www.arklatexspeedway.net to visit them online.

 

The four-day swing wraps up on Saturday, April 25, at the Boothill Speedway in Greenwood, La., with Limited Mods, Factory Stocks, Bomber Hogs and Young Guns rounding out the five-class program. Adult grandstand tickets are $20, seniors and military are $15, kids ages 6-12 are $5 and children ages 5 and under are free. Pit passes are $35. Race time is 7:30 p.m.

With his win at the Longdale (Okla.) Speedway two weeks ago, Johnny Scott leads the Double H Bands Southern Region points battle, followed by Grant Junghans Dereck Ramirez, Jesse Sobbing, Rodney Sanders, Stormy Scott, Philip Houston, Randy Timms, Cade Dillard and Mickey Lassiter.

 

Both the Ark-La-Tex Speedway and Boothill Speedway events will be co-sanctioned by the Texas Outlaw Modified Series featuring USRA Modifieds.
