NORWALK, OHIO (April 17, 2015) - The first round of qualifying is in the record books for this weekend's IHRA Nitro Jam Southern Nationals presented by Sunoco Race Fuels at Bradenton (Florida) Motorsports Park.

 

 

 

The first round of Southern Nationals qualifying ushered in the return of the Crower Pro Mod class to IHRA competition. The first pair of Pro Mod drivers on the starting line to mark the class' heralded return were Jerico Balduf and Ruben Tetsoshvilt.

 

 

 

No. 1 Qualifiers include: Jimmy Keen (Crower Pro Mod), Tim Boychuk (AMSOIL Funny Car presented by Aeromotive), Bob Molloy (Nitro Harley), John Montecalvo (U.S. Bounty Hunters Pro Stock), Katarina Moller (Jet Dragster).

 

 

 

Drag racing legend "Big Daddy" Don Garlits, of Seffner, Florida, made test four passes in his electric-powered dragster, SR-37. Garlits' best pass was 170 mph.
