NickHolt Posted March 31, 2015 Report Share Posted March 31, 2015 RUSTY YOUNG WINS DCRST OPENER AT CTS Rusty Young (88) picked up the season opening Dwarf Car Racing Series of Texas win at Central Texas Speedway in Kyle, Tx. Young waited and made a lap 5 pass on Rodney Rodriguez (4) to take off and hold off a fierce battle behind him to win the opener. Todd McLemore (54), Matt Goulais (39), Ryan Stoy (20) and Chase Havely (31) rounded out the top 5 in the very fast 20 lap main event. A grinding crash saw top contenders Arden Vikre (72) and Dwain Groff (14) involved in which Vikre took air into the night sky taking both drivers out of contention. 19 cars took the green in the main in what promises to be a great season for The Wild Side Tour. Heat race winners were Grant Prejean (09), Russell Rust (33) and McLemore (54). Up next in true fashion as a real hybrid series race #2 takes DCRST to the dirt at South Texas Speedwayin Corpus Christi on April 11.
