Guys the pits and the parking is standing water. Its alot better then it was but its not parkable if we were racing today. If we get a sprinkle it doesnt matter they are done period. They are hoping to get zero moisture Thursday so the drying can continue. If they get lucky and recieve no moisture Thursday we are still not out of the woods but the odds are greatly going up. So right now Thursday is the first hurdle.

They did pump and still are pumping. I went by today and they had 10 men there working trying to do what they can. The rain last Saturday is really what they are battling. No way could they mess with it Sunday or Monday. The rain has been coming at least once a week pretty hard and continuous. About the time it really starts drying another big rain shower comes. The facility has really never been dry since December and I can understand everyones flustration about it. Ken asked me to come out and check it out. Track isnt the issue and some of the pits isnt an issue. I think if they had sun all week long with the wind they could be more certain. Early this week I didnt believe we had a chance. After today I do believe there is a chance. But to pull it off both pits and parking need to be accessed. Just cross your fingers and see if the racing gods helps us out.

I was SPID at 11 am and when UI went by the Old Brownsville Rd exit it was just misting... a bit further South there were a few very small puddles, but like Alan Holt said, hit or miss very light showers and clearing and windy after the front passes through. 1005 right on the money!

I hope all this wind helps to dry out the pits and parking areas...

I stopped by the track at 4:15 this afternoon (Thursday) and took a few pics. They were thrashing away and seem at least mildly optimistic that things will dry out in time to race. Several areas of the pits are actually fairly usable and parts of the parking lot are no longer underwater and look to be drying out somewhat.

Here's hoping...
