JRfan
Ok I have a question. My cousin has an 05 v6 mustang that randomly the idle will jump up to 1500 rpm. And by random I mean maybe every other day or so. While sitting at a stop light. I changed the alternator out because it was giving a code "high idle/lack of output." Makes since, low charge output, computer idles up engine to speed up alt. That doesn't seem to have fixed it completely. I drove it and it didn't happen with me. The shop he took it to said alt and throttle body. He doesn't have the funds to replace the throttle body. Anybody have any other ideas?
rebelracewriter
My 2004 v6 lil pony does a similar thing....but all the time.....Fortunately mine is a standard so it just revs a little with clutch in for a couple seconds, then drops to normal.... I've changed the coil pack, cam position sensor-TWICE, alternator(all for other reasons) and it didn't make a difference afterwards.....So you can probably eliminate those as causes....Good luck.....let me know if you hit on a solution.
