rebelracewriter Posted March 1, 2015 Report Share Posted March 1, 2015 Oklahoma's Tyler Thomas 4th in 74th Australian Speedcar ChampionshipWARRNAMBOOL, Australia (Feb. 28, 2015)Tyler Thomas of Collinsville, Okla., finished fourth in the 74th Lucas Oil Australian Speedcar (Midget) Championship Saturday night on Sungold Stadiums quarter-mile Premier Speedway.The 19-year-old Thomas started sixth in the 40-lap feature in the American Racing Custom Wheels Esslinger-powered Stealth and led laps three through five. Thomas drove for Australian car owner Scott Wilson in his inaugural event at Premier.Thomas started 19th and finished third in Fridays preliminary 25-lap feature and had the races fastest lap. He was 10th, seventh and second in the heat races.Thomas opened Saturdays event by winning his heat race and had the fastest lap.Thomas was one of four Americans in the championship. Alex Bright of Collegeville, Pa., finished third, Davey Ray of Indianapolis was eighth and Jerry Coons Jr. of Plainfield, Ind., was 10th.
