We are changing the weight rule because of the difference in weight between the Goodyear tire and the Hoosier Tire. The Hoosiers weight about 5 pounds less than the Goodyears we ran in the past, so for 2015 we are lowering the required minimum weight by 25 pounds.

Here is the revised rule for 2015:

Car Weight

Car weight is with driver in the car. For the purposes of checking for compliance with the LSL weight requirements, cars will be weighed on the scales provided by Lone Star Legacy series and will be considered “official.” It is recommended that all teams weigh their cars using these scales since there may be differences between different sets of scales. Cars may be weighed at any time before, during or after an event or qualifying. No fuel or any other substance may be added after an event or qualifying to make minimum weight.

a. Total Car Weight: Minimum weight 1650 lbs.
b. Left side percentage: Maximum left side weight 56%
c. Cars utilizing the “new” head must weigh 1700 lbs.

This should help teams with lightweight drivers since they will not have to add as much lead as before.
