Street Stocks at TRP

TRP

Recommended Posts

Street Stocks will not be a full time class at TRP in 2015! We will still host 1 shootout race (with another date pending depending on another track) and we will try to work Street Stocks in on a few other occasions if the opportunity presents its self. The truck class has gotten together with some of the local street stock guys and mutually agreed on a set of rules so that some Street Stocks will be able to race full time at TRP in 2015. If any body has any questions feel free to contact me.

Thanks for Understanding,

Here is the rules for the street stocks to run with the Trucks at TRP in 2015. This was the class A rules for the Street Stock Shootout in 2014! If you have any questions about the rules for this class you can contact Chris Shafer at (361)-935-7779. He is the one who spear headed this deal to make sure that the Texana Street Stocks will still have a place to race in 2015!

When the initial schedule and classes were released there was a different partnership taking over TRP in 2015. When Greg and myself sat down and talked about the direction we wanted to take the track we didn't think we could draw a full field of street stocks on a weekly basis because half of the local cars didn't want to change to Street Stock Shootout rules so they got with the trucks and agreed to run together in 2015 to ensure a full field of cars. We are in no means trying to cut the Street Stocks out that is why we are having the Street Stock Shootout at TRP (hopefully twice) in 2015 because what they have done with that series is nothing short of phenomenal. We are also looking to add Street Stocks to a few night when the Shoot Out events are not going on so that we can ensure a full field of cars to our fans, because at the end of the day we are trying to put on the best show possible every time we race. I am sorry for any confusion and inconvenience if anybody has any questions or concerns feel free to call or text me at (979)-733-7371.

Thanks,

Like Zach said, we are interested in running the cars that race the street stock series. On a race night that you guys have a sss race we would be cutting someones throat to overlap... Yes were are interested in having more races. How about we start here, how many cars do we have that are wanting to run at Texana, and what dates are we talking about. That information will help us make decisions... Zach has posted his number, mine is 979-482-6121...

There really isn't a set number of cars required for a minimum field. The trucks started in Edna years ago, and have been liked by the fans ever since. Combining them with the street stock cars that are not going to run the series should produce a decent number of cars. We are looking to put on a show for the fans, after all, that is what will keep this track open. As we have stated, the series has a great thing going, we do not want to schedule on top of them, so let's look at what nights we have that a shootout race is not scheduled, how many cars we have, and go from there...

Not sure if it was listed with the purse but you may want to clarify if that will be the purse regardless of car count or if you only have 7 cars for example, what would the purse be? Just in case you get to racing and have 5 cars for example, they won't be confused on purse. If you plan to reduce purse in the case of low car counts, drivers would want to know. Hopefully it won't be an issue, just trying to save a headache if it wasn't already clarified.

I know of atleast 10 sss cars that would run there on a consistent basis, but as far as opening night none would be there because that is the first shoutout race in corpus. I also can only think of one big tire street stock that would run on weekly basis with the trucks. Question is why should one or two street stocks that don't wanna change with the times get to join a different class to run and everyone else that has adapted to shootout rules get punished from supporting their local track.

The decision to combine the two classes was not a track decision, it was a decision made by the racers, anyone within the rules will be allowed to run in that class. We are not favoring anyone or any class, but as stated above, if we had street stocks on opening night nobody would be there... That is what we're trying to avoid
