with sts running 3300lb at .450 lift and 3400 at .480 lift does that mean they will still be legal to run at sos

if they are running the .480 lift

This should be interesting...Wonder what plans are with these two tracks..

I think that partnership was formed under the premise SOS and STS were the only regional tracks running. Now with TRP re-opening it makes much more sense for SOS and TRP to work together since y'all share the same market and most of the cars. I don't think STS needs SOS Pures and SOS doesn't need STS Pures. Realistically, how many will travel each way on a regular basis for $225 or whatever it is to win? You may get one or two here and there. The trick will be events like Havoc and the Shootout at STS (if Pures are invited back) then what rules to run or compromises to be made.

Sounds to me like your builder is building a street stock! interior skins (i.e. roof, floor, a pillars stay) hood and trunk lid can remove inner structure, trunk out side of frame rail back to wheel houses, truck floor back to start of cross-member hump (the well) decking in is allowed, but with a floor that would be a hell of a large mud collector! I believe the frame rails need to stay stock as well, your builder should be able to section some ones on if the old ones are damaged to be to use

I dont think so!!!....made me change mine last year...lol... did not make any difference!!!

wow!!! so you actually had an illegal cam in car now everyone can lay this old issue to rest...kept everyone in suspense this long...
Call it what you want...but when bought car i had raced it 4 times at sos and 2 times at sts...prior to being checked and told i could not come back unitl it was changed...weve been through this story once but now its seems like its not an issue!!! And cant say thats why the car was winning...bc i never ran a heat after changing cam and still finished no less than 4th starting last!!!and the one time i did make heat i get 2nd and broke motor when leading...so with that said you all know now!!! And as said before the cam was not winning the races!!!

Well if a STS car shows up the tech man will know what to look for! I would think IF any STS car went to SOS they should know not to try with a .480.I agree that TRP coming back is a better fit for SOS anyway.I never thought there would be a lot of cars going back and forth.

Well when i pulled it out it was kind unusual looking...it had somewhat of a bend in it so i had to find another one with that same bend!!! Lol

quote]

there you go, that's a cam made for cornering no doubt it. but make sure when you replace it, that you get the left turn and not the right turn. LOL

I would also like some clarification on these rules too. I just bought a car that was raced as a Speedarama P/S and it has the a-pillars, trunk floor, and rear wheel wells missing along with a gutted hood, roof, and trunk.

well the way I understand the rules (and I race P.S.) A-pillars, inside roof have to be in car. you can remove inner front fenders, hood inner skin, truck lid inner skin, along with truck floor behind cross-member hump, rear half of wheel well maybe removed. So by your description, I would say there needs to be some metal put back in to be legal, or remove somemore and race street stock

1. Rear frame horns - Preferred stock but I know of cars that have been hit in the rear and the horns are badly mangled. I'm ok with light weight tubing being used behind all suspension mounts.

2. Rear fender wells need to be in place

3. The trunk floor can be cut out behind the rear cross member can be cut ou

4. Hood can be gutted

5. Roof needs to be intact

6. Trunk lid can be gutted

7. Roof A pillars must remain in place

8. You can deck the driver's compartment but the stock floor, front and rear fire walls must be complete
