Monday is final day to save money, pre-enter Featherlite Fall Jamboree

SPRING VALLEY, Minn.-This Monday, Sept. 15, is the final day for racers to save some hard-earned money and pre-enter for next weekend's 16th Annual Featherlite Fall Jamboree.

Set for Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Sept. 18-20, at the Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, Minn., Modifieds will be shooting for a $5,000 top prize each of the first two nights and a whopping $10,000 winner's share on Saturday.

A $200 bonus will be paid to any driver that does not qualify for any "A" Main or Saturday's Non-Qualifiers Race.

The early entry fee is $400 for all three days. Early entry for Thursday only is $100 for licensed drivers, $110 for non-licensed and $125 at the gate for all drivers. Early entry for Friday only is $125 for licensed drivers, $135 for non-licensed and $150 at the gate for all drivers. Early entry for Saturday only is $200 for licensed drivers, $225 for non-licensed and $250 at the gate for all drivers.

Thirty cars will take the green flag to start the main event all three nights. Drivers can race one day or all three. Bonus tow money is only for drivers racing all three days.

RULES: USMTS rules apply on Thursday. USRA rules apply Friday and Saturday (including 8,000 RPM chip rule). Tires permitted are the American Racer KK-704 and stamped Hoosier G60. Wissota Hoosier 35 tires are allowed for cars which are completely Wissota legal, and Wissota Modifieds may use 7-inch spoiler with the American Racer KK704 tire.

PROCEDURES: Each night, the top 15 in passing points will be locked into the "A" Main with the top 8 redrawing for starting positions 1-8 and 15 additional drivers advancing from the "B" Mains to 30-car "A" Main each night. Saturday's "A" Main will start three wide. The top 30 in Saturday's "B" Mains that do not advance to the "A" Main will advance to Non-Qualifiers Race (all drivers redraw for starting spot).

USMTS points will be awarded on Thursday only for drivers in the Hunt for the USMTS Casey's Cup. USMTS provisionals and Top Dog Bonus will be Thursday only. Friday and Saturday night's events will award USRA national points.

A complete program of heat races and main events will be staged each night.

As it has the past three seasons, Thursday's lid-lifter will served as the final points race in the Hunt for the USMTS Casey's Cup with the crowning of the 2014 USMTS National Champion and Rookie of the Year during Friday's pre-race ceremonies.

On Thursday and Friday, the pit gate opens at 3 p.m., spectator gates open at 4 p.m. and the first green flag waves at 6:30 p.m. General admission adult grandstand tickets are $25 each night and kids ages 12 and younger are just $10.

Thursday night's program will wind down with karaoke under the hospitality tent following the races. The annual Fall Jamboree Golf Scramble takes place at the Root River County Club in Spring Valley with a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m. Friday morning. Fans, drivers, crews and their families will put a lid on Friday's festivities with the return of The Dweebs performing live on stage following the races.

On Saturday, the annual Fall Jamboree Bean Bag Tournament begins at 12 noon near the campground. The pit gate opens at 2 p.m., spectator gates open at 4 p.m. and the first green flag waves at 6 p.m. General admission adult grandstand tickets are $30 and kids ages 12 and younger are just $10.

As always, a delicious hot breakfast will be served each morning by the Bear Creek Lutheran Church in the hospitality area from 8-11 a.m.
